This trip to GSMNP was originally planned as a 5 day/4 night trip for the wife and I. A family emergency shortened it to an overnighter. We started this trip @ Newfound Gap, taking the Appalachian Trail northbound up to Icewater Springs Shelter for the night. We decided to have dinner @ Charlie’s Bunion, a 2 mile round trip from the shelter. Day 2 started out with incredible views from The Jump Off, as we had intended to hike the Boulevard Trail up to the Mt LeConte Shelter for night 2. Unfortunately we received a phone call while at The Jump Off that forced us to hop back on the AT and hike back out to the car @ Newfound Gap. Day 3 the plan was to hike back to the AT, follow it back north to the junction with the Dry Sluice Gap Trail, take it down to the Grassy Branch Trail & follow it down to the Kephart Shelter for night 3. Day 4 the plan was to hike up the Sweat Heifer Creek Trail back to the AT, and take the AT southbound to Mt Collins Shelter for night 4.
Life happens, and we shall return to GSMNP very soon! Quickly becoming one of our favorite places to visit. Thanks for watching, Dixon. ✌🏼

My wife and I visited Eastern Tennessee last April and fell in love with the area. We spent a little time in the Smokies and what an impact it made on us. God's country no doubt! We really hope to be moving there in the near future. Thanks for this beautiful video!

Nice! If I can find the time, I’d like to hike the AT section like you did last fall.

Nice video Chris! Glad you were able to get back to the Smoky's. It's too bad there was so much smoke in the air.

Thanks, Bryan. This was a planned 5day/4night trip that unfortunately got cut short. Hope to make it back to GSMNP in the fall!
