I am so so happy that my Hobonichi order arrived today and I just had to unbox it with you as soon as I got home from work.

I placed my very first Hobonichi order just a few days ago with the Japanese store. Im way too excited and over the moon. Last year I bought my first Hobonichi on Amazon US and Ive really loved it. Because of your video I went back in and added the big BOOK and Transit map, why not right. Thank you you are so fun and share my excitement to a tee

I’m a few weeks in my Hobonichi Weeks (the Loft-exclusive Pandorobou edition in a Bow and Tie fabric), and I still can’t stop watching setups and unboxings. 😂 So fun! Thanks for sharing! 🤍

I put my pocket horizontally on the back endpaper (not cover side). My cover makes it inaccessible on any of the covers. It fits perfectly.

The paper sheet is a sample of the new paper for next year. This is the last year for the Tomoe River paper that we are used to.

OMG!....I think I just felt my wallet tremble at the sight of your order (not to mention your friends orders . I admit I've stopped doing the big Hobonichi orders. I just get my A6 each year because I'm still in love with the Covers I've had from over the years. I really dislike the colours in the pen this year, my favourite is still 2017 (the delicate pink one) and I didn't mind 2020 either. And I make my own Page Closers now. I just use old Apple iTunes cards and put eyelets and elastic in myself. I have to admit though, the Aristocats line is tempting me sorely. Thanks for sharing your haul...as always

I’m still waiting patiently for mine. I put aside money every fortnight and was happy that I spent less than half of what I put aside. But I am questioning my purchases! I’m also waiting for a restock on the pink sparkle drawer pouches. Enjoy and no need to explain your purchases, most of us are hopefully mature enough not to question others for their purchasing habits. Xo

Love the Tokyo museum weeks, so pretty. My order is due to ship next week. I've also gone for the Finnish cover in the A5. I've gone for the Avec for work this time round. My sister's Christmas pressie is an A5 cousin. No cover or at least not yet. She might just have to go for one of my old covers!

Thank you for sharing! I got the Shibata Zeshin Tokyo National museum Weeks and I also find it stunning! I got the postcards and coloring book that had his other artwork too. The coloring book sold out like within the first 20 minutes . I'm not sure if the shibata zeshin Weeks is popular , haven't seen too many people have it online 🤔 I also got the Mina Perhonen Anemone which is very lovely!

@@desleyjaneplans I got the A6 size. The Anemone seems to be a popular choice, seeing a lot of people having it in their purchases . Yes I'm glad I got the shibata zeshin coloring book, his botanical artwork is gorgeous, I might buy his artbook that has a lot more of his works too..I wish Hobonichi had offered it, but at least amazon japan has it ~

Those little papers look similar to the moisture indicators you sometimes find with cameras that have underwater housings. Would love to get that question answered.
Yes I agree. Sometimes they’re taped to the insides of shoe boxes as well. I’m assuming they’re for moisture but yes would be good to know! ☺️
Just loved to see your 2023 covers, especially those Hedelmäpuu (Fruit tree) - they feel so classy and fresh! I put my A5 size 5years Diary in mine.
Ooo did it fit well in there? Yes that’s a great way to describe it, it’s fresh. So excited to start using it.

Maybe those mystery stickers have something to do with the moisture packet. I know some people like to leave those in their bags and stuff to keep them fresh.

Yes, I think it's basically the same thing as a silica packet. I've seen them adhered to the lid of shoe boxes before.
And here I am, stressing over my Jetpens cart….should I just buy the A6 and re-use last year’s no brand cover, or should I splurge another 15 bucks and buy the one that comes with the A6 cover? I do wish Jetpens has the Marie stuff. I love Marie.

I DO like that Tokyo Museum confections Weeks, and seeing yours makes me really glad I did add it to my order (I have like 4-5 other Weeks in that order, too! 😂😅) I know the Aurora Duty was so popular (you may be surprised to know it’s one I did not get, and was never trying to get. It is cute, but I don’t like the texture of cover.) I say all that to say IS the Weeks actually quite popular? It’s popular with me, but I did not know beyond that. 😂
Also, I like this year’s pen quite a bit (it is only my 3rd year). Of course, I have not seen it in person yet, but I think it is quite sort of stable yet pretty with sturdy yet bright feeling. I think it would look really good with a lot of the covers like that Gurunpa’s Kindergarten. As for me, my A6 cover is one of the solid colors ones, and I still think it will look good. I hope my impression stays after my box arrives!

Ah thanks so much!! 🥰 I feel like certain Weeks sell out so quickly and I watch a lot of YT videos about Hobonichi and there are SO many that include at least one weeks.
Yeah I’m not sure about the shiny cover on the Aurora either. It looks gorgeous but would mark up easily.
I love the Plate of Confectioneries Weeks, it’s so pretty and looks so good with my red leather cover 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Hello! I love Hobonichi too! I have a question: why do you need so many different techos for 2023? I'm asking bc I bought the small black one AND the cousin lol. I like the cousin better so I don't know what to do with the other one.
Hi! I’ll be doing a walk through of how I’m using each one soon and I have a couple of videos explaining last years lineup too. But basically, I like to separate the various parts of my life - work, PR, personal planning. And I also like to journal in a couple of ways - minimal, collage, kawaii - this part is more about the artistic style rather than the actual writing. It’s just my hobby and I really enjoy it 🥰
The Cousin and the A6 planner are both great. Since the Cousin has the weekly spread, it’s great for weekly overviews or memory keeping while then having those daily pages for detailed planning or journaling. I feel like it’s the perfect everyday planner.
But the A6 is such a great size. It doesn’t have the weekly spread so if you’re using it as a planner, you have to be diligent with daily planning, which I haven’t been great at in the last, but really want to improve this year. ❤️

The black cover on the English planner is OK, however the pages are so bland and not as functional for me as the original. I wish they would just put the same design inside but with English quotes with this planner. I do not understand why, even if it was a collaboration with a designer to make it, I frankly do not care.
The A6 Avec also has a time series on the left side, and 3 tasks on the top of the page. People usually have a top 3 when they are functionally planning. The time line lets me plan out each day functionally. I am not into all this decoration, but may at times use washi or stickers on a page, but it is not the focus.
I agree that it would be better like that. I read on the website that when they switch to English, they have to make everything bigger, which is why the grid is slightly larger and they put less text in. I think it would be fine if the English was as small as the Japanese.
Mina Peron are fake leather on the inside, which is why I refuse to buy the series. PU leather breaks down, flakes, and ends up being a micro plastic that is bad for the environment. I would prefer if they used a fabric inside that is more stable when it breaks down. I am happy you are happy with it, do not get me wrong. It is your decision. Just that it is not “environmentally friendly” as Vegan Organizer loves to brag about. PU is made from oil, all plastics are made from oil.
Yes, I got one of the fabric covers with PU “leather” in the interior last year; I think it was a leftover of a cover from a year or two before, but I bought it from Hobo directly. ANYWAY, it is already disgusting after less than 2 years of use, and it mostly sits in a drawer. It has never traveled out of the house. That fake leather really stinks, literally, and quite badly. I’m seriously thinking of getting rid of it.
Actually I’m not super happy with that cover. The fabric is really not what I was expecting. And I didn’t realise the inside was not leather. I may be destashing that one.
PU is my biggest enemy. The worst thing is that nowadays it looks so close to leather, that when they spray it with “leather smell” and fold or cover all edges it’s almost impossible to differentiate from genuine leather. It makes me crazy. I have also seen genuine but very bad quality leather covered with the same material as PU leather to make it look smoother (I’ve seen this in a lot of Dr. Martens or mock-ups of thereof), or “recycled” leather, which is leather scraps made into a paste, that is then flattened and again covered with the same stuff as PU. And people the get mad when it starts to flake and you tell them there is nothing you can do about it.
@@Dunika yeah my brother had a sofa that peeled like that. It was very expensive. Not a happy camper!! I’ve put that cover into the destash group.
