Take pictures of the inside of cabinets and drawers. Make a binder for each house with all the photos.
Yes, have a photo inventory of everything in the room for before and after pictures. It will help you keep people accountable if they trash your room, or take things as souvenirs they shouldn't. If they know you will be checking the inventory afterwards (in advance) they will be less likely to steal your property)

If you haven't already thought of it, be sure to provide a basic first-aid kit for the inevitable boo-boos and replenish between guests as needed. Also, maybe provide a small Desperado Ranch logo gift/souvenir for your guests to take home to remind themselves of what a great time they had. Thanks for the content! You're always fun to watch.
One idea for an attraction that can be cheap to install and still be fun for many people would be a disc golf course. Food for thought!
There's one already there. It's just overgrown. lol. A real 9 hole golf course would be cool.

Small nightlights for the bathrooms and a few other key areas is ALWAYS good at Airbnb's. People are staying in a new house as opposed to a tiny hotel room. Lighting at night when nature calls is very helpful. Also, fill those soap dispensers with the least scented goop you can find and don't be bummed that they don't get used that much. They are good for the first day or two when people are settling in, but most people like their own goops and bring them with them/buy them when they travel.

They put the Keurig box into another box because guys just like Matt deliver them. It keeps them from being totally destroyed before they arrive at your home. It is a good thing, trust me.
I ordered some carburetor adjustment tools once, not kidding each tool came bagged in a bag, bagged with 2 other tools, that were bagged with 3 others in a bag, that were bagged with an exact bagging of 6 other tools, the 12 tool bag was bag once more, and placed in the carrying bag they were designed to rest in that was bagged as well, before being placed into the amazon bag that it shipped in. On that note, I sure hope Matt has considered providing complimentary bags at meat fest.

A friend of mine here in Maine rents out part of his 130 acres to a fall festival each year. He makes $30,000 for a 3 day festival and doesn't have to do hardly anything. The festival people put most it up themselves. :D

Im a big supporter of meat fest at the desperado. But i want to ammend the resolution to call it the desperado meat feast.
Something relatively cheap and easy that would be fast to open to the public. You should make some side by side, dirt bike, four wheeler trails. You have the perfect terrain for it. Maybe get rid of a few trees. Make a little camp site so people can spend the weekend. It would be perfect
My wife and I have what’s called a split king bed. It’s two twin XL mattress and boxsprings together. We have separate sheets and all that and they move up and down separately. Best decision ever

if those dispensers fall off. wipe mounting surface with alcohol first. always ensures a clean adhesion surface.
Take some command strips and mount the charging station on the wall so it can free up space on the nightstand in the bunk room.
When all is done, make sure to make a Matterport scan of the place. It'll result in a full virtual tour of the property, it's perfect for listings and marketing and it surely increases bookings!

Make sure the kitchen knives like the chef's knife, paring knife, etc are actually sharp enough to cut through more than just butter. Just being in the drawer is useless if they can't cut anything. The diamond file on my Leatherman has saved me more times than I can count when renting Airbnb's.
Coffee mugs bottoms mate, for a hon stone for the knife edge. 🫡

I was up there in 2013 spent about 2 weeks in Alaska, Talkeetna was definitely the best town we were in wasn't expecting to see a steelers bar XD
Sadly the car launch had gotten too big for its own good. I've been 3 times but this year if you weren't there 5 hours early you were parking 6-7 miles along the highway. @kirkc9643

Matt, we bought the same power strips from Amazon that you did, but we ended up exchanging them for ones that look identical, but have both USB and USB-C ports along with the regular receptacles. Apple products all come with USB-C cords now.

you should do a big rib fest... they are HUGE here in Canada. Bunch of rib cooks, some cool vendors, music stage... I helped organize a few here, they do really well.

Perfect name! They need to also open it up to a chili cookoff, potatoe salad cookoff, etc for all the guests to enter their recipes in. Will involve the wives more, as well as give some sides for the meat being cooked. (And if the wives don't cook--offer it up as a competition between a bunch of food trucks for the specific items you ask for--chili, beans, potato salad, corn chowder, etc....Tex-Mex pasta salad, etc....)
That Alaskan trip will be awesome! Take a few extra days with the family. Talkeetnna is awesome.
I was there in 22. It was beautiful. I flew in a plane to see Denali and landed on a Glacier. I really enjoyed it.

I was in Talkeetna, Alaska a couple of years ago. You should definitely take a plane, I suggest Talkeetna Air Taxi, and fly around Denali and land on Ruth’s Glacier. Dude Perfect did it in 2021 on Bucket List. There is also a really cool house called the Dr Suess House, you should get drone shots of it. It’s a beautiful place. You will be able to see Denali from Talkeetna. But I suggest flying around it. Have fun in Alaska.

The soap dispenser is something my mom and I would not do again to put in the bathroom at our air b and b. It is easy to break.
I am hoping that Mere and the kids are doing great. I also hope that there hasn’t been any more occasions with people approaching them without you there.

Someone may have said this already, but a split king is an actual thing. It's two twin XLs put together. You would typically have an actual king size headboard and a king sized comforter. Split king sheet sets come with two twin XL fitted sheets, one king flat sheet, and two king pillowcases. Yours may have been regular twins but I couldn't tell

That is the same Combo Keurig I have. Owned it about a year and doing very good so far. Last combo Keurig lasted 10 or so years of continuous service, Coffee K Cups, filtered into the carafe, tea and hot chocolate.
