    S2 is such a fun platform. My first thought when I test ride the Del Mar last year was ‘I wanna do hood rat shit’. Mulholland seems like a great option for those that don’t want to venture off the beaten path, which is why I love my Del Mar. great review/jmpressions! Ride safe

    It’s starting to make sense in the right circumstances. I daily ride year round (FL). Stop and go. Average 40 miles per day. Park at home overnight. Wouldn’t plan a trip on it and wouldn’t be the only bike. But as a daily yeah. Considering the cost of a car for commuting it starting to look like a viable option for me.
    Good video

    The Del Mar was a good addition to the lineup with a purpose; attract urban riders. Super fun to ride. This seems like they should have found a way to extend the range if the goal was to make a cruiser. Zero continues to improve their range and offerings and LW has released an S2 that doesn’t grab the larger US market. I’m a shareholder and believe in what LWG is doing but find this model to be a miss for me. The ELW/LW1 is still such a good looking machine to me and is a joy to ride.

    Good concept that needs broader market appeal…at some point what about a hybrid cruiser or touring bike. Like the current EV auto conundrum a strict EV platform has some real range and charging infrastructure that limits broader acceptance…same for motorcycles. But a hybrid approach to a broader range of motorcycling genres could open the market and lead to market acceptance and successful profitability

  • @AdamasOldblade
    @AdamasOldblade Před 2 měsíci

    I ride an electric bicycle almost every single day, both for fun and as my daily commuter to and from work. I have a hybrid car, but not EV. An electric motorcycle seems like my dream come true (granted I'd have to get my motorcycle license, but many people have told me it isn't that hard to get and schools around me offer classes to teach you). The ONLY thing stopping me right now is simply the cost.
    As of this comment, this bike is $16,000. That's FAR out of my price range, but the allure is there. Cost of living is so out of control that even for my studio apartment in Arizona it's $1,385 and that doesn't include food, fuel, electricity and Internet for literally a room to live in.
    I feel it's a pipe dream to have one of these one day, but damn is it perfect for me. I'm a minimalist by nature and live alone by choice. Seems great, but it always comes down to money.

    What’s up Block Fam!? I got an unexpected phone call from Orange County police. They recovered my 09 dyna. It’s been missing for two years. It’s a mess of wires and mismatched parts. Serial numbers ground off, no controls, no back brakes, cvo front brakes. There’s a lot missing. Almost nothing original. What should I do with it? Twin cam chopper? Rebuild it as a dyna? Sell it for parts? Wdyt?

    • @BlockheadMoto
      @BlockheadMoto  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Oh damn! Congrats on getting your bike back first of all! That sounds rough for sure. To rebuild as a Dyna is doable, I'm sure you can find plenty of 2nd hand parts for good prices at swap meets or on ebay. Or you could go the chopper route, both could be cool!

    I think electric bikes are great for people who live in the north and only ride half the year. No worries of gas going bad and maintenance for just a short riding season. Also for urban riders who maybe do a 100 miles a week with access to charging.
    Electric motorcycles make more sense than electric cars.

    Level 2 are slow chargers vs level 3. Sadly most level 3 are only 50 kw vs advertised 350 kw. All Tesla superchargers are level 3(120-250kw) one reason why other manufacturers have bowed to Tesla with universal SLIM NACS plug vs the huge CCS plug

      There’s trade offs for everything - but the architecture is completely modular. If LiveWire wanted to make a 21kW version tomorrow they could. However that would require a bigger motor, ergo change, etc.

    The bike is not intimidating. It seems like a small to mid sized, along the lines of a Sporty. You just said it, "It feels like a big bicycle".

      Not intimidating at all, and easy to acclimate to it since there's no clutch and shifting! Less of a learning curve hopefully equals more riders! Which is better for all of us, haha. Such a fun bike!

    I`m never going to buy an electric bike, my country just introduced road user charges on electric vehicles. I get a new bike every year and I have not ridden all the bikes I like yet. Right now I love KTM. I`m retiring in 2027 and looking to return to Harley`s(combustion with loud exhaust)😁.

The great thing about these bikes are the low maintenance. there are maintenance intervals, however they can be done at home and it won't void the warranty if not done by a dealer. Most level 2 chargers are in town center areas like restaurants, storefronts, bars, etc.
