Welcome to episode # 67 of the Rock Interview Series. For this feature, I have legendary guitarist Chris Poland and former member of Megadeth as my featured guest.
During this feature, Chris talks about the new band that he's involved with the Kings of Thrash, which also features ex-Megadeth members David Ellefson and Jeff Young.
Chris was a member of MEGADETH from 1984 to 1987.
During that time, he performed on the first 2 Megadeth records, "Killing is My Business and Business is Good" and "Peace Sells, but who's Buying." He also returned to perform on the 2004 release "The System Has Failed."
In addition, we discuss Chris 1990 solo record "Return to Metaloplolis" and his brilliant metal fusion band OHM.

I was at this show, I agree, I’ve seen Megadeth many times, but they never play the songs I wanna hear, my favorite albums is the first two, Gar Samuelson is just so incredible, the best Megadeth lineup was the first one. I wish Megadeth played the first two albums songs..
the show was incredible I can’t wait until they come to la again

The solo at the end of Devils Island is my favorite Chris solo.
Peace Sells But Whos Buying is one of the best metal albums of all time imo.

Love hearing these guys talk about how hard that shit is to play. Makes me feel human and not just inadequate.😂

Probably my favorite guitarist ever. Very hard to emulate. I really like “Club Ded” off his solo album. And of course all his leads on “Peace Sells” and “The System Has Failed.”

Jeff is doing a great job but it is not perfect by any means.

The personal manager had to use his own money, or the band's money, to get Chris' amp or guitar out from the pawn shop?
So Dave didn't lie, the band needs that equipment to play and shouldn't have to spend a penny on Chris pawns 😂

Ya, that's pretty shitty but we've all made big mistakes whether everyone knew about them or not

They were young and stupid and they were junkies. I've known junkies, there's a couple in my family, they would steal anything from anyone for a fix. One of them is clean now and she's a great person, I'm not going to hold anything against Chris for something he did decades ago when he was under the influence.

Mustaines vocal kept megadeath from greatness. That nasal whine, just horrendous.

Wrong. Megadeth is literally one of the most well-known and successful bands ever.

I love that angry snarl, that's part of what makes Megadeth Megadeth.

It's like everywhere I look there's a new idiot that could do it better and has some crucial advice everyone missed.
