    530 at the rear wheels, with 20% drive train loss equivalent to 640hp!

      bullshit......640 gross with no muffler, air cleaner, or belts is 530 net horsepower, or 420 at rear wheels...get it right Goober

      @@chadhaire1711 how do you come up with that number?
      No way its putting down that little.

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711 Před 4 měsíci

      @@gordocarbo Yes it can. Dyno numbers are bare engine with no muffler, belts, air filter which is the GROSS number. Out those items back on and you have lost 18-20% or the NET number. For example a 1970 426 Hemi is 425 GROSS horsepower but only 350 net. ALL cars today as of 1972 are rated NET---A 2023 5.7 is 375 Net. Then the driveshaft can take up more, 10%-20%. So your 640 hp motor is really only about 530 net. I cant say what the rear wheel is, on a small car the shaft will not rob as much as a large car.

      @gordocarbo that is completely bullshit

  • @chadhaire1711
    @chadhaire1711 Před rokem +1

    650 horsepower on the dyno with no mufflers, no belts, and no air cleaners, is the GROSS rating used until 1971. With those items installed to be street legal the NET horsepower is more like 530....

      This isnt rated like it was in 1971.
      My 383 with headers all accessories makes more than that and that 572 would walk all over mine .

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711 Před 4 měsíci

      @@gordocarbo If it is rated on a dyno with bare engine it IS RATED like 1971....that is how the rating was done......BARE ENGINE. Your 383 stock was only 265 NET horsepower and no headers or power tuning will get it over 300 unless you did a $10,000 redo and then it would not drive well on the street.
