Here's the blotter update...
- I remain undecided about this one and I'm going to need more time with it. On the one hand, I can't shake off the feeling that it's just the sort of floral-woody-ambery composition that the mainstream pushes on us endlessly. But on the other, I wonder if I'm being too dismissive of some subtly interesting facets: the way in which the various elements are in tension against each other. To put it somewhat more objectively: the drydown is woody-musky, with an ambery glow hovering in the background. And yet... strange, surreal petals keep popping into view, laden with bubbles of icy water. It's all rather more fascinating than an initial sniff would suggest it has any right to be. Or am I being overly persuaded by the story and marketing? As I said: more time is needed.

If there was ever a backstory to a fragrance that would instantly pull me in, it's this. Hyperion is most probably my favourite book of all time. If anyone would do anything interesting with it, it would be Etat Libre d'Orange.

I love this house, especially Experimentum Crucis. On sample wear, Ghost immediately reminded me of Liz Claiborne Curve for Men which is strange because the note profile is totally different. I may have liked this if Curve wasn’t my high school scent way back in the day 😂. Thanks for the video Persolaise!

I tested this one on my skin today and feel exactly the same! On one hand, it seems a bit generic, but somehow I can't stop myself from coming back to sniff it. And just like you, I'm wondering if it's mostly the story and the name, which is also the title of one of my favorite films ever, is the thing that intrigues me so much, not the perfume itself.

Your various review of the ELdO fragrances really got me looking at them. Before they never lured me in completely. The Marquis de Sade one got me thinking though and now I discovered they even have a perfume referencing Dune, a book that I really like. I will also most likely get a copy of Hyperion (despite having so much to read atm).
What I really want to know now though, who made that wonderful rugby shirt? Is it a Drake's?

I received my bottle yesterday..it was a blind buy as I haven't had access to any tester or samples...and I have a mixed emotions about that, probably I was expecting something else.. something different and unrealistic...its a bit generic but on the other side I can't stop sniffing my wrist... I don't know but I can catch some notes not maybe the same but similar to Emporio Armani She 🤔
