  • In August 2018 I was in Tuvalu and Tonga working on a documentary for the amazing eye charity 'Vision of Islands' based in South Australia. Whilst in the tiny atoll nation of Tuvalu I found myself with some spare time and volunteered to help the country's Department of Health make some short health message films to be shown at their upcoming health forum.
It was awesome to be able to help in this way. The Health Dept were thrilled. These are the first ever health information films to have been made in the native tongue of Tuvalu and were used not just at the forum but to educate children and adults alike at various places around the island.
This film talks about the importance of a healthy lifestyle in order to reach your dreams/goals. The young lady played table-tennis for Tuvalu whilst the guy played professional rugby union in New Zealand. they are idols in their country and role models for the kids to look up to. At the beginning of the film the children are saying what they want to be when they grow up. The message being.... you can be whatever you want to be if you look after your health.
Within the space of 3 days I wrote, scripted, story boarded and shot these shorts using local 'talent'. Very satisfying.
