I’m an old candlepin fan, Tim Douglass reminds me of Joe Ashline …. a great bowler from Nashua, NH. He threw the ball fast as heck, and if he was on you were in trouble! But sometimes a”hard toss” causes more problems than benefits.

Agree, Tim's a "slinger" more than a "bowler", and he probably hopes the speed will create more splash strikes. Problem comes when you continually leave more pins up after the first ball than you'd like, causing you rely on your accuracy more. Notice how many object pins he misses for spares that don't involve wood. And today's not the only example of this. Lots of his vids on YT, you'll see his object pin consistency is probably close to 60-65%. Not good as spare shooters go. Keith Beaupre can fall victim to this too.
