That poor girl. That would've been one of my worst nightmares. When my husband and I got back together....long story short'ish, we were high school sweethearts, he joined the Army, asked me to marry him & then decided 2 days before the wedding that he didn't want to get married, shattered my heart into a million pieces, 4yrs later he was out of the Army & returned, we happened to run into each other, he begged me to forgive him, I sort of did but my true goal was to shatter his heart so he'd know how it felt (I couldn't do it though because that's just not who I am) but I was still very much in love with him, we got married 5mos later & we just celebrated our 32nd Anniversary this past February, BUT I couldn't trust him, I didn't dare give him ANY part of my heart again, at least not until a good 7yrs into our marriage anyways. But THIS would've CRUSHED me even though I don't think he'd do it only because he had hurt me SO bad before & he promised to never, EVER hurt me like that again & it took that first 7yrs of our marriage to actually believe him & start trusting him again, I was terrified of it happening again & he knew that so he literally put up with a lot just to prove it to me. It was hard on him & on me so I knew I had to either start breaking down that brick wall I put up around my heart or get a divorce, so I tried but I couldn't trust him NOT to hurt me again so I filed for divorce. BUT, 3 days before it was final we decided to try & make it work & obviously it did & I regret NOTHING, I DO think I would've regretted divorcing him though so I am glad that didn't happen.
