  • PCOS - what is it? There is so much bad info out there. In short, the brain sends out two hormones, LH and FSH. FSH (a well named hormone, follicle stimulating hormone) controls a follicle growing, which happens as an egg matures. LH (luteinizing hormone) helps trigger ovulation (egg release) and stimulate progesterone production in the luteal phase. In short - the ovaries are a hormone making factory. And in PCOS the ovarian response to the brains hormones is abnormal (ovarian dysfunction). In PCOS the number of eggs available is really high and the FSH signal is normal. So the signal gets sent to all of the follicles which causes it to be faint (or diluted). The signal is not strong enough to get one follicle to respond. The follicles are making just enough estrogen to prevent the brain and ovary from communicating properly. However, the ovary is a powerhouse hormone making machine and it likes to do its job right. When it can’t make enough estrogen - it makes testosterone. The pathway for the LH to androgen production becomes the preferred pathway and male hormones are made at a much higher rate than estrogen creating a hormone imbalance. Insulin is extremely important and helps your body do two things: use glucose or store glucose. Insulin resistance is when the cells are no longer up taking the glucose. So the cells feel like they have low glucose levels and the liver starts to breakdown glucose to give you more sugar. The pancreas begins working overtime to get more insulin because the body is saying they need more sugar in your cells. Insulin also stimulates increased ovarian androgen production. This means it is causing the body to make more LH and the ovary is being shifted to make even more androgens. Not everyone with PCOS has insulin resistance, but 60-70% will. It is a large contributor to making the disease worse - although it is not a cause of PCOS. #pcos #fertility #infertility #ttc

I always thought that I might have depression because that's what my doctor always hinted at. But I was actually happy with my life. But every month I had this rage and sadness I couldn't find a reason for. During that time I would always say "I don't want to k.. myself but I wouldn't mind dying soon" because I felt this unbearable anxiety. Looking back that was one of my symptoms. With all the other ones you just mentioned. It's frustrating that no doctor is taking it seriously. I feel like it's easier for them to say loose some weight, eat less (I'm already eating not enough) and describing depression pills (which I never took). Why are we women so overlooked and wrongly treated by professionals. Which causes even more problems like E.D and even more stress and high cholesterol.

Same my doctor told me I couldn’t possibly have PCOS because I’m of slim weight, he told me that people who have it are of larger weight. Instead he prescribed me with anti depressants, because I told him I struggled with mood swings and felt down around the time of my cycle. Everyday I wake up with sore bloating, I have to constantly pluck black facial hairs from my face and on my stomach. I felt so misunderstood and just let down from doctors

Thank you. I had a son 5 years ago and I havent had a period since. Ive been seriously procrastinating. I have a wonderful and supportive supervisor at work and when I told her it's been 5 years, she strongly encouraged me to make an appointment and said we need to have a talk about self care and taking care of my health. Could definitely exolain why I am also having trouble with losing weight. I alays thought that if you have have PCOS you have a lot of facial hair to go with it. Now I know it's not always the case.
Time for me to go to the Dr.

I have major depression, anxiety disorders, and lots of stress. All of the symptoms I hear and can actually ‘test’ at home could easily be any of the previously stated things, or it could be PCOS.
    Help?
Stuff I have that could either be the depression, anxiety, stress, or PCOS:
    • Late, inconsistent periods. (mine are sort of regular, and sorta not 🤷)
    • Being tired / exhausted all the time.
    • Acne.
    • Weight gain.
    • Hungry. Just hungry.
    • Difficulty sleeping.
    • Difficulty concentrating.
    Stuff that’s PCOS that I can’t test:
    • Has masculine traits. (I can’t tell if I do or not)
    • Stuff you listed but I can’t test.

The doctors always said I probably have an hormones problem but never checked nor got treated. All my headaches, gain fat, absent periods (one time I’d one period in a six months), acne and some hair growth… my family history fertility isn’t awesome.. my grandma died and my mother had an extensive fertility treatment to conceive me and my siblings. I was afraid to discover cancer at every check up and knew my chances to have children are slim. Now I’m almost positive I’ve PCoS and it manageable. For the others, I’ll worry next time

If you cut your total daily carbs down to below 20g per day for six months, you’ll reverse PCOS in about six months.

And you don't need surgery or pills.

      You have it...
You can do the following tests if you want to really confirm it, but I recommend saving your money:
      ■ Low/high estrogen levels
      ■ Low/high androgen levels (testosterone)
      ■ Low/high thyroid hormones [T3, reverse T3, T4, THS]
      ■ High fasting insulin levels (very low levels indicate Type I diabetes)
      ■ High C-peptide levels (very low levels indicate Type I diabetes)
      ■ High fasting glucose levels
      ■ High HbA1c (over 5.4)
      ■ High Triglycerides (over 100)
      ■ Low HDL
      ■ High C-reactive protein (CRP)
PCOS is caused by having high blood sugar all the time. The sugar molecules in the blood start attaching to cells which causes them to become dysfunctional. The high blood sugar also causes high insulin levels.
The combination of the dysfunctional cells and high insulin levels become the foundation from which all PCOS symptoms develop.
Fastest and safest way to reverse PCOS is to deal with your blood sugar levels by doing a super-low-carb diet ---- Keep your total daily carbs under 20g and you will reverse PCOS in about a year.
Look up videos on how to properly start a keto or carnivore diet and go from there.
The full recovery takes about a year but your period should return in two or three months.

I went to a few doctors, no doctor helped me but only advised the pill although one doctor did tell me that one of my problems (acne) will start to dissapear by its own when i reach the age of 30. But reaching 30 will take so long and i want to have clear skin at my age. My questions are about pcos/hirsutism. Is there a way to treat acne without taking the pill, can i get rid of unwanted facial hair with laser treatment, because i heard laser treatment is not permanent on face. Is it possible to have kids even with cysts on ovary? And i have an abnormal weight swings. I don’t know if others experience this. But I get on weight really fast but I can also drop weight really fast which because of that I have now extreme hairloss. i wonder if there is a treatment or medication for these problems without having to take the pill. • @Hertz2laugh
      @Hertz2laugh Před 7 měsíci

      Go to the doctor.
Tell him you are worried you might have PCOS because you haven't had a period in half a year, and that you think your blood sugar levels are high.
Tell them you are thirsty all the time, pee a lot, and feel fatigued all the time (these symptoms will encourage the doctors to believe you because they are signs of high blood sugar). If you don't give the doc any concrete symptoms, there is a much higher chance they will not believe you, and be unwilling to do any testing.
      Ask for these tests:
      • HbA1c
      • Fasting Insulin
      • CRP (C-reactive protein)
      • Triglycerides
If they refuse or gives you a hard time, find another doctor. You're not paying them to gatekeep you...
I'm betting that all of those tests will come back with high marks.
Make *_ABSOLUTELY_* sure the doctor gives you the print-outs of your lab results. Do not leave their office without the papers that have the actual lab results on them. No matter what the doc says, he has to give you those documents. This usually isn't a problem, but it's very important.
Once you have the test result numbers, you can see if they are high or low by looking online at reputable medical websites (CDC, Mayo Clinic, etc etc)
      What the tests mean:
      *HbA1c*
This test tells you what percent of your blood cells have extra sugars attached to them. Anything over 5.4 is not good. If it is over 5.7, you have a real problem.
      *Fasting Insulin*
This test tells you how much insulin is in your blood stream. Insulin goes into the blood when blood sugar goes up. Insulin helps get rid of extra sugars, so, if you have high fasting insulin, you know you were having high blood sugar levels. It's seeing a bunch of police officers with their lights on - you can bet something shady was going on if the cops are around.
      *C-reactive protein (CRP)*
This test tells you how much inflammation is in your system. It doesn't measure inflammation directly, but it measures the protiens that show up whenever inflammation is occurring. Similar principle as fasting insulin test - if there are a bunch of cops with lights flashing, you can bet there is a problem.
      *Triglycerides*
Triglycerides (trigs) are fats that show up in the blood when there is too much sugar in your system for the body to handle quickly enough - it's like seeing dirty laundry everywhere because the laundry basket is overflowing.
So, now you can see how all four of those tests can tell you about your blood sugar level from different perspectives.
It's important to do at least two of those four tests. It's like having more witnesses at a trial - it's one thing if one person says they saw a certain event but it is a much stronger case if four witnesses all say they saw the same event.
Once you verify that you have high blood sugar levels (I'll bet just about anything that you do), then you can move on to solving the blood sugar problems and getting your period back.
Or you can skip all that, and go straight to the solution.
If you eat less than 20 grams of carbohydrates per day, you will fix your blood sugar levels, and get your period back in about two or three month.
This works because carbs = sugar, so, the fewer carbs you eat, the less sugar you are taking in. Less sugar intake = nice, happy, normal blood sugar levels.
Once your blood sugar levels are normal and steady, your body is finally able to go out of emergency survival mode, and go into healing and repair mode.

PCOS can be fully reversed in about six months.
PCOS is the result of chronic hormone imbalance.
Chronic hormone imbalance is most commonly caused by (1) chronic inflammation and (2) chronic elevated insulin levels.
⚡⚡The most common *_root cause_* of chronic inflammation and elevated insulin levels is *chronic overconsumption of carbohydrates.* ⚡⚡
📌 *Keep daily carb consumption below 20 total grams per day for six months to completely reverse PCOS*
      Supplementary information follows:
⚠️ *Moderate and high carb foods* ⚠️
      • Bread, rice, grains, noodles 🍞🥖🍚🍜
      • Candies, sweets, sugary drinks, alcohol 🍭🍰🧃🍺
      • Vegetables 🥕🥔🌽🫑
      • Fruits, fruit juice, honey 🍇🍌🍓🍯
      • Milk, cream, yogurt 🥛
      ✅ *Low carb foods* ✅
      • Meat (unprocessed) 🍖🍗🥩🥓
      • Sea food (unprocessed) 🐟🦀🦞🦐
      • Eggs 🥚🍳
      • Butter/Ghee 🧈
      • Salt 🧂
      • Water 💧
You do not have to restrict calories to reverse PCOS, just limit carbs.
      🚨 *NOTICE* 🚨
Suddenly restricting carbohydrates will likely result in temporary, unpleasant carbohydrate withdrawals.
It is similar to suddenly restricting caffeine or nicotine - expect headache, mood swings, cravings, low energy, disrupted sleep, etc.
These symptoms are temporary and not dangerous.
As with caffeine withdrawals, carbohydrate withdrawal symptoms will pass in three to nine days.
      🚨 *NOTICE* 🚨
Suddenly increasing daily fat consumption may cause temporary diarrhea.
This happens as a result of your gall bladder not producing enough bile to process the incoming fat. In this condition, the body simply evacuates the fat it cannot process which results in diarrhea.
You gall bladder will begin to produce more bile over time and the diarrhea will pass.
You can take Ox bile as a supplement if you want to reduce the severity of the transition phase.
      *Key point:*
Keep your total daily carbs under 20g for six months and your PCOS will be resolved.
Peace and love to all. ❤
