Hero is re-mapping the xpulse 400 engine.. They started the Mavrick 440 project prior the Harley Partnership..so the engine is entirely developed by Hero and Design part is assisted by Harley. And we can se they did a very good job. So yes thats why Mavrick 440 needed to be launched.

I'm eagerly waiting to drive mine out of the showroom end of this month. Same Vivid Red variant. Looked sexier than the S variant to me.
I tried the Mavrick as well. Mostly because it has recesses to tuck your knees in but I wasn't impressed with its road presence. I was sitting on it, checking the ergonomics, my cousin arrived, he stood there, looked at it, and said it looked FZ-ish. Sigh!
But let me tell you this, the front suspension on the Mavrick felt better to me. It didn't bottom out on the same potholes where the X440's did. If you're good with Mavrick's design, you'll love owning the motorcycle.

    1. Is it more comfortable than X440?
    2. How is the road presence?
    3. Should a person should go for x440, if they have the budget? Or stick to mavrick considering the fact that hero too have a larger network and it is more value for money?
I previously had 150CC bike (suzuki GS 150R) so to me, mavrick appeals more as riding triangle is kind of a similar.
Earlier I had plans for Meteor 350 so I have dropped it when I took the test ride for this and mavrick.

Test rode both bikes. I ridden both so van guide you. Maverick is very very nimble and agile. I have Xtreme 150 which does feel heavy at b2b traffic speed but mavrick 440 is very flick able. Plus Harley has turtle shaped tank where as Mavrich tank has different design which helps gripped thighs providing excellent grip support. Only con i felt was instrument cluster which should have been bigger and better in Mavrick. Reat its excellent bike and cheaper too than Harley

For me the main difference between this and something like the Triumph Speed 400 is the confidence it gives to the parent manufacturer to sell it worldwide. The Speed 400 is sold everywhere by Triumph, and Harley only sells this in India. That may only sound like half the story, but it's a testament to the overall quality levels of both bikes. The other half is of course brand strategy, which can vary too.

In case Stell doesn't reply, here is my opinion. There is no wobbling or stability issues at any speed. However, I wouldn't at all recommend cruising above 110 kmph. Single cyl bikes aren't meant to be ridden at 110-120+ speeds constantly. Engine feels smooth up to 110 kmph post which there are some vibes.
