I just finished making the sewing machine cover! It’s so cute! It definitely took me over 10 minutes though.. closer to 2 hours 😅 but that’s also because I’m a super beginner. I also made the coasters for my kitchen table and they came out great! Those were way less time consuming, probably because It’s a smaller amount of fabric. I made one side gingham and the other side blue floral, that way the coasters are reversible when you flip them over!
The sewing machine cover and produce bags are such clever ideas! I'll definitely be giving them a go sometime soon! A 10 minute project I'd recommend is some pattern weights! Just cut out whatever shape you want and then sew around the edges. I filled mine with little pebbles I found in a $2 store! Or you can turn them into little heat packs by filling them with rice!
@@alicine-sims8988 Yes I just pop them in the microwave for 30-60 seconds depending on the size and how hot I want them. I used to make them with my grandma, she always used knit fabric so they had a little stretch to them :)
I love fabric coasters. They are especially handy when working on my computer or when I'm at my desk as little bumps are inevitable and the coasters are so absorbent. I use squares of old bath towels in mine. I also use old bath towels as padding for pot holders and trivets.
My grandmother used to make her own potholders like that and use scraps from house dresses she made. I thought people with store bought potholders were “fancy.” And when her house dresses wore out, she made the bottoms into aprons. Nothing wasted.
Love this! We made Covid 19 masks at work and now two of my friends are obsessed with sewing and looking for easy projects. I’ve shared this video with them. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for your quick tutorials, they are great fabric stash buster ideas. I've been wanting to make a fabric coaster and that scrunchie is perfect for leftover supplies from making masks. Thank you for teaching us!
I agree with a previous poster: thank you for adding the measurements in inches. I’m very new to sewing, so not having to worry about conversions makes me feel even more confident in trying these quick projects.❤️
I used to sew years ago and sort of gave it up. I’m thinking of taking it up again but wanted some simple ideas to get started and your channel is so perfect! Thanks for giving the measurements in inches that is so handy! I look forward to seeing more from you!
I am glad that I stumbled across your channel and love everything you do. Easy to follow instructions which helps me with my primary school students. The only thing is that I find your videos go a bit fast sometimes and I have to keep rewinding several times because the students find it a bit hard to watch. However, thank you for everything you do and for sharing. Keep up the great work
Can u believe that i never thought of machine covers!! I look at the machines and try to dust them !! Can do that for all the machines in the kitchen !!
I was so happy when I found your channel, I always want to sew something but can never think of what to make so it's so refreshing to see easy projects that I actually want to do! Love love love these videos 😊💛
Thank u. Im just beginning to sew and im looking for simple projects to practice so i can get straighter stitches. Love ur video. More like this wud also be very helpful please. Thanks again
Your videos are well done- clear, concise, and I REALLY appreciate how you use everyday sewing tools instead of fancy, specialty , hard to find/afford items.
Could you also show how to make baby wraps for mothers to carry their babies in. It's like a shoulder strap over the arm but it has to be safe . It would be similar to a swaddling blanket with a strap.
I made some produce bags the first week of iso! I used a shower curtain I found from the op shop (and washed!). I even made multiple sizes, and used leftover wool from knitting to colour code each size. Love the coaster idea, inspired to do the same thing for some placemats! ✨✨
Love the video & the projects! I wish I could give you a like but haven't been to give anybody a like for a couple of days. From what I've seen there is a growing number of us 😑. Thanks CZcams. But back to the video,, so great! The directions are super clear & your voice is wonderful to listen to. Stay safe, happy, and healthy - cheers from Seattle ❣😷❣
My new overlock came with an ugly thin plastic cover so I'm really excited to make a cover out of a beautiful fabric. Thank you so much for this idea!:)
Those produce bags are genius! I never get produce bags at the store, to save waste, but it would be nice to use these to keep my fruit from rattling around in the cart.
A note on the scrunchies - when inserting the elastic, I'll usually use a second safety pin to pin the other end of the elastic to the outside of the casing near the opening :) this just keeps it from all being pulled inside, lol
aaa im so excited :) ive picked up sewing over lockdown (especially your scrunchies) and have been looking for more projects like these, and your tutorials are amazing :)
I just found this channel and love it. I'm just learning to sew during our quarantine and i believe your 10 min projects will be easy enough for me to try. Thank you!
Your scrunchy reminded me of a recent quick sewing project I did - an "ear saver." With so many now wearing masks, the ear saver is a comfortable addition (worn at the back of the head, mask attaches to it instead of your ears). It is made to start with similar to the scrunchy. I cut out a piece of elastic equal to the distance at the back of the head between the ears (around 6" to 7" normally for an adult). If using 1/2" wide elastic then cut a rectangle about 1 1/2" by 9" to 12" in length (depending how much gathers you want). Stitch the rectangle and turn as you would for a scrunchy. Thread the elastic through, making sure to pin each end of elastic in place - you should have a straight ruffled stretchy piece. Stitch ends closed, making sure to catch elastic in place (do not close into a loop like a scrunchy - finished product will be a straight ruffle). Then on the "top" side, towards each end (about a 1/2" from each end) sew a button (buttons with a shank work best). To wear just loop the ear straps of the mask over your ears but pull a little further to loop around the buttons on the ear saver instead - pressure is now on the buttons instead of your ears.
Another way to make much simpler machine cover is to drape your fabric over the machine and fold it at both end like you were wrapping a pkg. Pin in place and sew down through 3 layers to tack the folds in place (think where you would use pieces of tape on paper). You really can do this in 10 mins and have complete coverage. It's like a box lid when finished.
I appreciate you giving the measurements in cm and inches, very considerate
Me too, thank you! Blessings😊
