❣Jimin’s “Set Me Free Pt.2’, it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this makes me that much more excited, waiting in anticipation for release of the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” on March 24, along with his other, main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! I’ve always been so frustrated not being able to see as well as hear Jimin’s full capacity of talent. Btw, people seem to think the auto tune starts right at the outset but I don’t believe that’s the case. I am convinced the first two phrases are Jimin rap-singing in a very low register we haven’t heard before - it’s just layered to amplify his sound more; his voice is all there! You can tell the difference as soon as “I never stop” comes in auto tune - it’s so obvious when he’s in auto tune…a brilliant stylistic choice I might add!!!👏👏🔥🔥

The choreo is definitely a nice blend of those styles and pardon me for being crass (although I don’t feel too bad, I know this is something Jimin wanted to try anyway) but the way he moves in this, makes me really want Jimin to do a pole dancing vlog/special performance. The song is so, so JImin. It reminds me of Lie when it comes to the epic instrumental, it's not just epic but it is kind of dismal as well, which reminds me of Lie. Kinda scary, and I just love it, it's so dramatic.
I recently read a book called Angels Before Man, it's about Lucifer's birth and fall from his own perspective, the second half of the book becomes very blasphemous, and disturbing at points, but nonetheless beautiful. This song with its instrumental and choreography reminds me a lot of that book, specially when we get to the end and the music starts becoming kind of scary and Jimin is swaying arms extended, head thrown back while the dancers are around him with their arms thrown to the sky, it looks like worship, seems ritualistic. I think that is fantastic. what a great piece of art.
