I was not a lawyer, but I was a CPA worked at a Big 4 firm so my life was similar to life shown in this video. Long hours, lots of sitting, reviewing, meeting, and typing. Basically live to work, not work to live. I am no longer in accounting because i realized life is too short for spending the entire life at a desk. And this world is too beautiful to stay in the office for 12 hours a day. It brought back so much memories. I hope this could be an inspiration for the younger generations.

I really admire the dedication, conscientiousness, discipline and hard work displayed in every minute of this video. However, if I am to be honest, this week looks like hell on earth to me, and is not sustainable mentally, physically and emotionally, as one gets older. I know Em has left the law since she posted this video, and it was probably a very wise choice and good for her!!

Suits is one of my fav TV shows! The show does feel a bit too dramatic sometimes.
There's also no way that people still look this good after working 120+ hours per week.

This vid (particularly the HK Park 香港公园) parts. I did get very nostalgic for the happy times I spent in HK. I lived in Guangzhou (about 100 miles into China) and visited a lot.
In late 2019 and I received and offer to work at a training center in HK and turned it down for the time being (that was a restless time in HK). Then COVID struck and the time was gone. But happy memories there for sure.
Am currently (as I write this) wondering how life would've been if I had taken that job and lived in HK fulltime when I had the chance. I believe that I would have loved it a lot.

In Malaysia if you work at big law NONE of them, not even junior assocs, are willing to commute by public transportation given how bad and unreliable the public transportations are here. You saved a lot of your money and I hope it will be the same in my place too. Cars are a huge commitment, and nobody should be obliged to have them (sorry if this is unrelated)

Hi there, thanks for watching! While the importance of Cantonese depends on the firm and the practice area, generally speaking it is helpful (but not required) to have limited working proficiency in Cantonese. The main languages firms care about are English and Mandarin. Hope this helps!

Great video. You do have long hours at work. I know law is not a 9 to 5, so impressive.

That’s cool. Nowadays, I just get off the bed and place some limit orders and stop orders in my DAS Trader Pro and go make breakfast. I manage risk for an hour, close all positions, and head out for the day. Guess what I do?

I'm a student who wants to work as a lawyer at an international law firm in Hong Kong. I have some questions to ask. Is the work life balance good? Can you work at other countries such as US?
