Really good point about the age of the AL. We are constantly comparing our selfs to AFL and NRL who trace their roots back well over 100 years now.
Also second gen support is starting to happen. My son now goes on his own with his mates- so in our family there is now two adult generation of SFC supporters. It takes time to grow and despite what seems like endless negativity about the AL I believe it will survive to see better days.
    Thanks for your work guys

The NZ football ceo wants a South Island team and Christchurch’s 30k stadium is being built rn fair to say we’ll be seeing it in the Aleague within 4 years

Wellington and Auckland I suspect will play some games in Christchurch in the meantime.

I think Hindmarsh Stadium is a good example of how a stadium can help a team to be sustainable and grow a solid fan base. I think Suncorp, Newcastle, Campbelltown, Melb City and Wellington all need to re-evaluate where they play. Melb City could build a smaller ground at Dandenong to give it some geographical separation from Victory. Ballymoore looks like it could be good for the Roar as I saw the womens team playing there and it was a good atmosphere. Newcastle is an issue but not sure how to resolve. Campbelltown could do with a new modern covered stand. Wellington needs a 12000 seat stadium next door to where they play presently. Western's new stadium looks great but was almost thinking 10000 would be a good starting base, maybe 3 sides built and one end left open for a future stand.

If you wanted to built a new stadium for the Nix you couldn’t built it in town there’s no space for houses let alone a new stadium

The State Government is going to redevelop Ballymore as a boutique stadium instead of Perry Park because it will be half the cost

    Hey Brad and Sogg,
    Great video 📹 topic, fellas!
This is exactly what the A-League needs. For the league to finally thrive and reach its potential, clubs should be looking at building boutique stadiums 🏟. You've seen how much this has benefitted the MLS in the USA 🇺🇸 with their clubs. Fans are filling these smaller purpose built football ⚽️ stadiums. Stadium capacities between 15,000-20,000 is perfect 👌
Below, I've listed where each of the A-League clubs could play in order to maximise their revenues:
Auckland City expansion club: Bill Foley wants to build their waterfront stadium near the city centre but could play out of Mt. Smart Stadium in the interim.
Adelaide Utd: Hindmarch Stadium is perfect 👌 Capacity: 16,500.
Brisbane Roar: could look to redevelop Perry Park or Ballymore in the future.
Canberra Utd expansion club: building a boutique stadium in Civic sounds good 👍
Central Coast Mariners: Industree Group Stadium 🏟 is perfect for them. Capacity: 20,059.
Macarthur FC: They were looking to completely redevelop Campbelltown Stadium to make it a covered football ⚽️ specific ground, but it seems talk has gone quiet.
Melbourne City: I believe they're looking at trying to build a stadium near their Casey Fields academy precinct in the south-east of Melbourne. Watch this space.
Melbourne Victory: AAMI Park is perfect for the Victory as their supporters base is the largest in the league. Capacity: 30,050.
Newcastle Jets: I don't see them moving from McDonald Jones Stadium plus they're cash strapped. Capacity: 33,000.
Perth Glory: After the WA state government refurbished HBF Park for the Women's WC last year and with the Glory trying to find new owners they'll stay where they are.
    Capacity: 20,500.
Sydney FC: The new Allianz Stadium is too big for Sydney FC as they only fill the ground for the derby vs WSW. Wentworth Park in Glebe would have been the perfect venue for redevelopment to a football specific stadium ⚽️ after the NSW government initially closed it after the greyhound racing industry shutdown years ago.
Wellington Phoenix: Sky Stadium in Wellington is way too big as well plus its not a football specific venue. A complete redevelopment of the Hutt Ground would be great for their club and supporters.
WSW: CommBank Stadium is a state of the art venue and is football specific for the Wanderers. The club just needs their supporters to return in order to fill the ground. Capacity: 30,000.
Western Utd: Tarneit Stadium will be amazing for Western Utd when its finally built. A 15,000 seat stadium is all they need for their supporters 👌

What about shade sails on uncovered areas? Couple of poles to cover a large area in some sort of shade

Keep up the good work guys. Love this chat.
Stadiums are generally way too big for now. It is 100% about the experience.
Western got it wrong putting games in Mars Stadium in Ballarat too.

Foley wants to build a new stadium in Auckland for his team, my guess is that he is likely to fund it as it's very difficult to get stadium funding in NZ

Welly looked into about 10 years ago. To build a 10k stadium in the Hutt. Auckland is getting a lot of talk about a waterfront stadium. I think some kind of Hutt stadium would be great. The cake tin is lifeless and your too far from the pitch. Christchurch Uniteds investment into a football ground has definitely payed off for them.

Thats ashame, But there was also talk about a stadium either at Hutt Rec or Taita Park. I think it just needs to be near a train station. Any of these would be fine. @@TOTN17

Stop wasting money on "boutique stadiums" when you can use league stadiums, or great community ones with grass terraces.
Seriously, THIS is what is wrong with developing football in Aust, an obsession with men in suits cutting ribbons to concrete monstrosities (replaced every 20 years) at the expense of resourcing junior development.
The whole Matildas/Socceroos success is the chance to grab kids away from league and AFL, and light the loyal football flame that lasts a lifetime.
