    Samsung didn't just send units for reviews, they also SPONSORED all videos made on CZcams about this projector. What this means is that there is a ton of content on CZcams about this projector which are basically all ads by Samsung! Nobody should pre-order this projector until actual reviews come out.

      After looking for a good Pico projector for a while while I also agree it's overpriced the quality is phenomenal and it has one vital feature that a lot of pico projectors don't have which is a built-in stand. Most of the pico projectors I found that were within my price range you had to provide your own stand and you can forget about keystone correction. Some of them did have Smart features but they were totaling toward $500 and STILL didn't have a stand. It seems like the perfect Pico projector for someone who has a big wallet.

    Samsung did a good job of (advertising) packaging this together making it do all sorts of things. I love the look of it and I love the ease of use especially for the built-in apps (not having to plug in some extra stick). However, I think it falls short in brightness and price to it's competition. The $900 price tag for 230 ANSI Lumens is pretty bad compared to other pico projectors.
    I think Brightness is one of the bigger factors in making things pop and look great. It looks great on his garage door at night, but any ambient light is going to dim this projector considerably. The freestyle could really wow people if it was just a bit brighter. Can we get this thing into the 500+ ANSI Lumen range Samsung?
    Stay away from the Samsung Freestyle until we see real in-depth reviews, more realistic uses, etc.

    • @AdmiralBison
      @AdmiralBison Před 2 lety +2

      I agree, it’s either the price or the low brightness that may hold it back.
      If they are going to keep the price, then definitely increase the brightness…and maybe give it strong short throw abilities for those of us looking for a portable UST projector too. 😃
      When you think about it, this would also go very well with Samsung Dex and Smart Screen share if you have a Samsung phone.

    Great review, as always. I think its competition is something like an LG PF50KA. That's a brighter projector, with LG app store, more connections and in-built battery. Retails for $550. The Freestyle might be more fun, but i don't understand the $900 price tag, especially for 230 ANSI lumens.

    • @AdmiralBison

      Don’t know, have to wait and see detailed reviews, the obvious difference between this and other pico projectors seems to be combination of swivel, strong auto keystone/focusing and an OS. Making it seem very flexible to use anywhere which is probably its greatest appeal.

Also tried the BenQ gv30 and Mars 2 pro, they are also great, all the projectors mentioned all have battery life. There is literally a hand full of projectors better than the freestyle also cheaper too. I don't think people realize that you will be paying an extra $100-300 on top of the msrp if you want the accessories such as, the carrying case and external battery adaptor. with all the extra cost you're better off just get a normal 4k projector..

    • @AlexInDepth
      @AlexInDepth Před 2 lety +2

      Autofocus is not super common, but it takes about 10 seconds to spin the focus wheel into place (even a child could do it… just spin until it’s clear.) The auto-keystone is common. More expensive projectors will have lenses with moving parts, so instead of having to use keystone(which degrades image quality as Chris mentioned), you can just hit a button on the remote and the entire image will shift left/right or up/down without losing any resolution. This projector would be nice at around $400, but compared to projectors with similar specs, there’s much here to justify $900.

    It's true. Sponsored review of this product by popular tech channels are like extensions of Samsung's advertisement videos 😄
    For those who are interested buying, they should definitely look for unsponsored reviews especially from those channels that knows about portable projectors.
    I think this projector is only for those who don't know possibly better alternatives exist, who don't wanna trust less known brands and no prior portable projector experience, who really like the design of this, and who just don't care about alternatives and lazy to check 😄
    It's understandable that many people doesn't know most things in this product already exist in others given that it's a niche product that is marketed by a very big brand like Samsung.
    But definitely, those who needs to budget their money to get this should double check opinions about this product.

    The BenQ GV30 seems like a much better deal, no?
    Same vertical flexibility, built-in battery, at a much lower price. It is 720p though.
    Have you tested it? How does the quality compare?

    1080p, no built in battery , only 230ANSI . And as for the price. Do not buy this before looking around first, much better cheaper projectors with built in battery

      I used mine through an hdmi splitter so I didn’t have any issues but I heard some people mention that it was having issues with certain 4k devices and that the retail firmware release would resolve the issue.

    Great tech. If they can make this into 4k one day then it will replace all traditional televisions. Nearly impossible but would be so cool.

    Hey sorry to bother you but would it be possible to make a video on " High end projector screens Vs Budget" because the store where I plan to buy my stuff from are saying the screen will cost over 5000$+ (Stewart Screen) if I want the full experience from my JVC NX5.... I'm sure there's differences from quality build but will it be a huge difference from a 2000$ screen? Thanks for your help in advance 😔🙏

      @@ChrisMajestic cool...I'm looking for a projector for outdoor use to watch sports but there us little to no shade during the day. This may fit my need. If you still have the unit. You should do a video outside at different time throughout the day. No one has a video up like this so far. Everyone is doing the same as your current video.

    It's looks good but the price is high for 100" max and 1080p and only 500 lumens. How does this compare to the xgimi horizon 1080p version or XGIMI Halo Native portable version?

    • @YSYS810
      @YSYS810 Před 2 lety

      XGIMI has 2000ANSI lumens vs. 200lumens. not comparable. maybe wait for a deal to get it at 9xx usd. definitely a better deal
