    I have 3 reasons to make these videos:-
    1/. To get better at film making
    2/. To have something to look on and laugh later in life
    3/. To hopefully sometime, somehow help someone searching for content I am talking about.
    Although I cut most of these videos to keep the length down, I obviously experience all these things, and many of them I learnt by watching other peoples videos on CZcams.
    I would be delighted to answer (or at least try) and questions anyone might have on any of the content.

    For 207 I thought that the when the ignition is hot, the ECU then grounds a relay which in turn then supplies main power to the ECU.....very counterintuitive but hey its French :)
    On my wifes 407 after going thru 3 BSMs that burnt out the same potted relay I fitted an external relay to then feed 12v to one of the fuses that powered up mutliple circuits such as fueling, ignition et al....used the fuse for the heater system as a switched hot for the relay control.....the shame of all this is that the wiring on many Pugs is by Seimens, never saw these issues with homegrown French wiring/BSMs etc.

    I'd love to be able to find a project car for a one-er!

    Thank you for this video. Where are those relays that you are talking about? in the BSM? If so, how to change the relay? Thanks from France.

      Yeah, the BSM contains relays - although they are not simple to replace

      @@julesgilson. hi in looking to buy a 2008 fiat scudo 1.6 and has the same fault .
      I'm looking to find out if the BSM is easy to remove and replace

    • @julesgilson.
      @julesgilson.  Před 4 lety

      @@clangunn72 couldn't tell you about the Fiat. You just need to check if it is coded to the car/ECU. If it isn't then replacing should be easy enough

    I've got a 207 which has no communication with engine control module. Would this be the cause? The relat in the BSM? I've tried another ECM but the fault is still the same

    I have a pug 406 with that BSM and am now experiencing your pain. All the pins have good continuity on mine but one of those internal relays just continually buzzes. Tempted to just hack it to bits - hey, its f*cked, cant make it any worse😜 local scrappy had plenty of 307's but the part number on the fuse box is different to mine. Got one anyway and tried to research the difference and came across your vid. I concur entirely with your findings. Interesting solution with the bodge wire👍👍👍

      They aint the greatest are they. You may be able to replace the dead relay if you pull it apart. I would think there should be a relay of the same type in the 307 one - like you say, worth a try.

    Hi, I'm Spanish and I like to enterderte, that all the pins were positive ???.
    Mixsara lights and flashes and does not start. The bsi has no current. You think that is the problem is in the bsm. I am electronic and I think I can open it, but I do not know where to put the bridge.
    Thanks for your video and your tiempo.un saludo fron spain

      Glad you enjoyed the video. Your fault could be many things. If you havent already you will need to connect to diagnostics and check the any immobilisation is working properly. It could just be an issue with the communication between BSI, BSM etc. If it appears that all should be working but there is still now power at the BSM (there must be some, as I remember the battery connects directly to it...) it is quite easy to take the BSM apart and check all the internal and external continuity is good. Good luck

    Hello mate, i have p3008 2013 1.6 diesel, as soon as you turn the ignition it displays an engine fault, the fault code is U1218 (inter-system Can one of the parameters present in a data stream sent by the Bsi is invalid) any help would be much appreciated, thanks

      @julesgilson.  Před 3 lety

      not much info I can offer, sorry. That will need proper diagnosis as the BSI is locked to the vehicle. It may be nothing (try resetting all faults and see if it comes back), or there may be an actual issue with the BSI. Unlikely it is a can bus or wiring issue as it states only "one" parameter. Anything is possible though with Peugeot electrics!!!

    Hi! I have problem with my Peugeot 407, and I really need help. I'm desperate. My central locking doesn't work properly, or the keys, or the BSI, I don't know anymore. I SUSPECT THAT THE BSI IS THE PROBLEM! The problem is that the car seems to contantly "keep forgeting" the keys. So the situation is next, I've tried to make a BSI reset multiple times, successfully. After that, keys still don't work. When I turn ignition on, and hold lock button on the key for 10 seconds (syncronizing), after that key is working outstanding!!! After that, as soon as I lock the car, and wait for around 3,30 minutes, again keys will not work. There is few other problems:
    1. kilometers on my trip computer (on the radio) are stuck on 1988 km, they are counting normally from 1988 km every time I start and drive the car, but every time when I reset trip to 0 and leave the car, after around 3.30 minutes, kilometers are back to 1988 km.
    2. my fuel gauge is not working properly, when the tank is full it shows around 15% less fuel,
    3. drivers seat heating isn't working.
    On top of that there is one major problem. When is hot weather outside, my car simply turns off or cuts off when driving. After that I can normally start the car and drive it. It can happen anywhere, anytime and multiple times. There is no rules. But only during hot and summer weather. In winter or cold weather everything is just fine. People are telling me that the problem is in BSM (FUSE AND RELAY BOX) under the bonnet, some kind of contact in the BSM or so..
    Please can you help me? Did you had similar cases??
    Thank you in advance !
    Greetings from Croatia

      I dont know if you sorted your problem, just replace BSM, doesn't need coding or anything. Just buy same as you have your car.

    Hi,I have a citroen c4 and every time the car switches off, after about 5 mins I can’t open the car using remote key and and the display resets e.g mileage changes to km, time resets, language resets. No fault codes when scanned and no dash lights. Any ideas what’s the problem? Thanks

    • @julesgilson.
      @julesgilson.  Před 8 měsíci

      couldn't say, but sounds like a BSI fault. You need to get it on diagnostics to catch when it happens. BSI is locked to other control units on some vehicles, so not that easy to replace
