Daphne Richards analyzes why a mandevilla is losing is browning up and losing its leaves. Her pick of the week is Southwestern native, shoestring acacia.
I have a mandevilla (named Harold) that has been struggling for a while. First mealy bugs, then I had to repot 'em, now yellowing leaves. Hope to take better care of Harold after this winter. I've been doing more research lately and was worried that fungus may be an issue. Mine has similar problems to the one in the picture, but on a lesser scale.
Mine looks healthy but it literally just wont grow. I have it in a 12 inch pot, made my own potting soil and it's the same size as it was when I bought it in April. It's in direct sun for 4 hours and filtered sunlight the rest of the day.
Very helpful! Thank you! I was wondering why the leaves on my Rio were yellow in the center. This Tx heat and sun has been brutal. If you can't move them are there options for shade you recommend? I don't have a lot of space, but maybe I could build something around them and put another plant that is taller and shades them some.
Can I cut it all the way back to 6 inches if it lost all the leaves there? It is at least 10 ft tall and all the health is in the top half, either because it is the new growth or because that area is getting more shade. Should I only cut it back to where there are still a few leaves left instead?
I have the same sun conditions... nearly 10 straight hours of direct western sun. What would be good for the severe situation? I was told mandevilla would appreciate the full sun. Please advise. Tried and failed with so many plants. 😫😫😫😣
There are different types of Mandevilla. The one pictured looks exactly like the ones I have in my yard. There is a large leafed type of mandevilla that grows in a tall vine.
This cant be accurate.. my mandevilla and dipledeni are both in shade but near bright sunlight... so they aren't being scorched. They're in bright shade.... they're yellowing. Ive repotted.. no difference,
I live for plant nerd rambling😂❤❤

Mandevilla plant only needs 6hrs of sun and consistently moist soil..
Alguém traduz pra mim...
Too much heat ! Use a shade for plants at home depot or walmart.
That is NOT a Mandevilla !!!!
