This was perfect! Maybe just mention when trying to get the piece unplugged to get your nail under each side and shimmy a little from side to side. It was a little nearve wracking not knowing how to get that piece off exactly. But it fixed my laptop and saved me time and money! Thanks!

I was flipping out because all I did was use the USB to plug in my iphone and then... all of a sudden with no warning.... my brand new macbook pro has no power and won't turn on. I bought it two months ago!! The power cord was faintly blinking green and orange so I knew it still was alive but I really didn't want to bring it into the store! This worked! Thank you! (Although now I'm afraid to use any of the USB drives).
Craig LaForm The cable I used to plug in my phone was NOT an apple cable, I bought a 6 footer from Amazon. I'm wondering if this ONLY happens with knock off cables?

Asombroso lo util que resulta este video. Tras producir una sobre carga en el puerto USB el mac se apago y no arrancaba, y eso que tenia 30% de batería, ni cargaba con ninguna magsafe. Me puse nervioso y pensé en lo costoso de la avería. Gracias a buscar la palabra "power-on-pad" llegue a este video que resulto util para solucionar el problema en 1 segundo. Por supuesto no use un cuchillo y el conector sale forzándolo un poso hacia arriba, cuentas 1,2,3 y lo vuelves a conectar. Tras 5 segundos puse el magsafe y ya encendía el led y arranco el Mac, Uff que alivio. Un 10 para este video. Lo recomiendo. Muchas gracias. Cada dia me sorprendo lo buenos que son los Mac pero a la vez el nivel de conocimiento que necesitamos si no queremos dejarnos el dinero en el servicio tecnico.

Make sure you put back lid on and screws back in. There is a sensor and the computer knows if the back cover is off. Also make sure you unplug computer before and after you pull battery cable so it may fu,my reset
