About Me:
My bio is pretty random: In short, I am a professional singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada who moved to Manila, Philippines which sorta became my Hollywood because my first CZcams channel MIKEYBUSTOSVIDEOS grew popular due to Filipino comedy videos. Meanwhile, I'm also a big biology geek who is obsessed with ants, so I built an internationally operating ant business supported by another popular channel called ANTSCANADA, and well basically, today I travel and tour around the world doing what I love so I wanted to start this vlogging channel, in hopes to encourage you guys to follow your dreams no matter how random, by showing you what happened when I followed mine! You just never know where life will take you when you listen to the yearnings of your heart!
OMG, Mabuhay Squad! They're finally in!!! I'm soooo happy this day has come! I've waited almost 4 years for this! 😭 BUT, now that you've seen how they've reacted to their aviary, what should our next step/course of action be? Opinions?
You need to build a safe and dry “feeding” place in my opinion. Like a “bird house” so they can enter there when feeding time
Wowwwwwweewwweeeeeeeee🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Maybe leave them in there for another day, they still seem a bit shocked by the new environment. Then maybe let them out after having breakfast the next day.
If they seem to be adapting well, you could also think about letting them out tomorrow afternoon.
Mikey, don't forget there's Nov 1.and 2, All Saints Day and All Souls Day, and those are also a big tbing for Filipinos because that's an opportunity for us to visit our dearly departed loved ones. its sometimes becomes a big family reunion..
So delighted for the birdies! What a home! ❤🦜🦜🦜🐦🐦🐦💙
Mikey, please don’t rush releasing them into the aviary! Slow and steady, calm and positive energy! If you have any anxiety about when to release them the birds will feel the energy! There is no rush. They will live there forever! When you feel calm and comfortable you will know they are ready! I think you are still absorbing the fact that this beautiful home is yours and RJ’s !!! Forever !!! That you really did build your dream ! All of it ! There is so much for them to take in. New smells, new sounds, new sensations. Take a deep breath and enjoy ☺️. It will come. Luv ya guys!!!! See ya on the next video. Frances
This!
You're right! I totally agree! Thank you! 🙏
I am so happy I found and became part of the Mabuhay Family and loved being part of the build from groundbreaking day to watching the birds going into the Avairy. Being a fellow Canadian also makes being part of your lives Mikey & RJ is extra special. Enjoy your beautiful home and the wonders that are discovered and made every day.
Sending positive vibes and lots of love from a fellow Canadian in Ottawa, Ontario. 🇨🇦 ❤️❤️👍!!
My God! What a really beautiful green looking aviary, and it does indeed feel good to be seeing the birds finally in their real home! I'd agree with your idea about eventually letting them out and flying back to the cage at night to sleep, because at least as a good thing, the birds can get the natural Philippine sunshine, and at times get bathed by the rain!
ALOHA!!!! Wow so napintas ur jungle.. 😂 😂 The aviary turned out looking like my backyard here an the island of Maui Hawaii. Mahalo for sharing….. 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Condolences and prayers for your tita and her family, it will be pretty awesome for them to be your first visitors though.
The excitement and joy you have shared with us was even emotional for me. I'm so happy to watch your dreams become reality! Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing!❤️❤️❤️
Nice vlog, came from the AntsCanada channel! Keep up the good work!!
I have a suggestion... Can you put a small table at the 2nd floor beside the window glass of aviary, then put the picture of Malaya and Ligaya with Saint Francis of Assisi statue (Patron of Animals) 🕊️🐦
At the end you mentioned being worried they might fly to a place where you can't get to them. I too worried about this. They have always been caged and may go up and not be sure how to get down. Up flying is easier than flying down. If you target train them to fly to a station/stand then if they get stuck they will usually come down if you target them. It helps them focus on where to go even if they are scared.
Hello 👋 how’re you doing?
Yay The Aviary Is Finally Complete 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 #MabuhaySquad
Re-use the three pumps from your current set-up. Buy a pre-made plastic pond. Build a custom holder for it, and use one section of the plastic pond for filter operations. Built a custom Aquarium filter sponge, Coarse to Fine mesh. Make a portion of the water surface be a sit-able feature and a lid to access pumps and such. Then simply make essentially, an aquarium system. It will be enough for the birds. If you filter the water, place maybe a few local freshwater shrimp inside. It will have bacteria enough to keep the water fresh. Then you just need to pull out the filter, squeeze it in a bucket and return it.
You can go a mile further by making a custom skimmer build with filter socks and what not.
So true! There are many how-to videos for building a self-cleaning pond, but it is basically what they're planning with their pool. I believe Mikey could still put the tea leaves from time to time as long as it's not too much and starts overwhelming the natural filtration system. I thought they were self-sustaining fountains with dedicated water supply. You do have that water spigot right there.
Oh Wow!! This is a HUGE milestone to reach; what an awesome accomplishment! I don't have any experience with this, but I would say that a slow, deliberate pace now would be the best approach. Meaning don't rush the next steps. As I see you, Mikey, you're like a kid on Christmas Day and, rightfully so... you've worked and dreamed of this moment for years. I think that a calm, deliberate approach to each step helps the birds acclimate (I know you already know all this)... it helps you, too; as you've seen, you'll likely want to adjust your behaviors to be more convenient to this new setup. It will all come together in time. For right now, though, it's beautiful. It feels like all of the potential in the Universe is at your fingertips.
It's exciting to think that your next big milestone of making the downstairs living area more finished is just days away; WOW, it's hard to believe it's really happening, LOL. I'm really very impressed and proud of you both.
Again, thanks for sharing all this; it's really quite the journey to watch (and even be part of). I take a lot of inspiration from this, and I'm super grateful! Ya'll stay safe, and I'll see 'ya next time!
WoW! Sonja must be so proud of you, and your Mikeys Garden Aviary area, Ligaya would be too! Can't wait till your auntie sees the Farm in person, it will surely brighten her visit a bit!
Every view of the aviary looks gorgeous! Love seeing the excitement on your face when you are dealing with your beautiful birds. I’m so happy for you!
Hi guys, thanks for sharing the bird's first day in the aviary. Yes, it is a trial and error thing. But so exciting. Regarding the fountains: I wondered if they were going to be kind of painy. We have a big triple layer fountain by our sun porch, so I have experience with them. I did some research on automated bird baths that will change the water so that it's always fresh. One brand is Birdbath Butler. You might want to look into something like that. I am glad to see the birds seem to be settling in. Enjoy, Gloria 🐂
I love the lights above the dining room table.....it's like you'll be having your meal in heaven!!!
I can’t believe it!!! Made my heart soo happy to see the birds in the aviary… what a journey!
So excited for you and the birds! Aviary is so beautiful. This is such a wonderful adventure ❤
So pretty, I can't wait for the next video where the birds can finally explore the aviary 😁🥰
It's amazing. I love it. Have you thought about installing an outdoor camera or two in the aviary? You would be able to check up on them from anywhere in the house or while on vacation. Also, you could even setup a 24/7 livestream channel for the birds if you wanted if you're able to find camera angles that don't peer into the house at all.
Hello Mikey! What about the new bird that is coming? Are you gonna wait to release them after they bond with the new bird?
Oh, true. I actually am unsure what my plan would be when it arrives. We'll see.
@@MikeyBustosVLOGSYay.. thanks for the response🙂! I was just curious. I don't know anything about birds ... just what I see/learn in your vlogs...lol. My thought process was if the other birds get released prior to bonding with the new bird would they alienate it or attack it in the aviary?
So nice Mikey! Congratulations!
YES! They look so happy to be in a place with plants and weather!
Agreed that they should be very comfortable in the cages. A few days!!! Then do some clicker training in the meantime. Get the used to the new environment. Amazing stuff!!! I am SO excited!!!!!!!! Mamita and Tita can't wait till I visit in a couple of days to watch the playlist I make for them of 5+of your vlogs!
Wow wow wow!
The aviary is sooo gorgeous.
It looks so very real now that the birds have been finally moved in.
I can't wait to see them finally settled and explore their new home.
I love love love the kitchen.
The other day I saw the same lights in one of the Hilton hotels in Brampton. It's so beautiful in the ceiling and remember yours.
I giggled at the birds licking the water off the bars! We put water out for the birds but they prefer to sip from a small pool of water that forms in our bbq cover! 😂
I've been waiting for this
day for a long time, Mikey,
I hope it all goes well! 💚
I love using the banana leaves as a roof for the birds, they gotta good soaking on their 1st day n 😅 The kitchen keeps looking better n better. The entainement rm view of aviary is like a beautiful painting that blends nicely w/the outside view😍. That finish line is n view n getting closer n closer daily👏👏😉💞
OMG your aviary so gorgeous, I’m jealous. Congrats ❤️
If you want the birds to go back to their cages every day, just keep their food inside their cages. 😊
OMG WOW! Beautiful!! We’re so amazed and proud of your aviary!! It’s awesome!!! And it’s WITHIN YOUR HOME! Aaahh!! It’s so cool!!! 😍 We CANNOT WAIT to see it in person!! Hopefully my parents can come over to see it while they’re over there in the Philippines!!
Ang ganda gandaaa ng aviary. Lovely! 🥰
Finally, the aviary looks great. I can't wait to see the birds flying tomorrow.
Arghh I’m so bitin with your vlogs, Mikey! I wish they’re longer coz I’m so into your house and of course your lives ! 😆 I’m wicked excited too like it’s my own place waah! Thanks for enticing me every morning. God bless guys! 😃
Hi😘😘🤝👍
ang ganda talaga ng kinalalabasan ng bahay niyo po. sana all. 🥰
Just love watching you and adapting to your aviary and the birds new environment. I can feel the emotions pouring in to your beautiful home. Rj is doing a fantastic job
Everything is looking so good. I can’t wait for you to start hanging your artwork that you’ve been purchasing and holding onto. I’m so excited to see that hanging on the walls.
Interesting how the Blue-naped Parrots were the ones that were really intrigued at first with their new surroundings once the cages got moved into the aviary whilen the Crimson-bellied Conures were the ones that were unsure, but then their behaviors got switched around later because it was the Crimson-bellied Conures who were comfortable enough to start eating despite their initial confusion. Since the birds look really tiny compared to the aviary and there are still 6 of them, once they finally come out of their cages and start perching on the trees, they'd probably blend in really well with the greenery with the only indicator that there are any birds in the aviary being their calls haha. I reckon you'd acquire more birds ij the future? Like the Nicobar Pigeons that I suggested perhaps and Pink-necked Green Pigeons.
The aviary looks lovely. Instead of getting stools, you can consider putting stone or fiberglass bench that looks like stone in front of the fountain. When you sit on the bench at the middle, it will look like you’re part of some landscape painting with the water trickling behind you.
I agree, a huge stone to sit on instead of stools
WOW WOW WOW, I'm getting emotional seeing your dream home almost complete.
Ahhhhhh. Kanina kopa hinihintay to❤️🥺
Wonderful vlog. It's such a pleasure watching everything come together. Can't wait to see the birds flitting around.
wao wao you got blue-naped parrots!!!
I'm so invested in this.
Always watching your mabuhay squad farm house updates! You are an inspiration Mikey 💙
My favorite Pinoy Boy! You have built my dream house!!! Love it!
Loving the long vlogs, a few times a month. It’s really great. The estate is looking glorious
Maybe, let them get familiarized first for a week with the cage inside the aviary., So they will learn to go back to their cages for nap time 😆
Your aviary and the house are so perfect. Congrats to both of you. You are such an inspiration to all mabuhay squad.
Great vlog! You take such good care of your babies. They will thrive under your supervision. Have fun with your relatives.
Billy The Goat 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐 #MabuhaySquad
Mikey just a thought maybe look at zoos having aviaries, or maybe call one up and see how they go about it and get some ideas
Hello 👋 how’re you doing?
Yaaayyyyyyah! The titel makes me so excited!🤪
Love the Aviary! It came out really nice. Dream come true! Congrats Mikey & RJ! Beautiful House!.
Hey Mikey & RJ
Mikey, I think you should put 2 of the branches on the opposite corner of the aviary, but at the top. That way the birds would be able to go right to the top and sun bathe, or get a cool breeze if they find it warm down lower in the aviary. Plus if you had 2 branches above in the opposite corner you would be able to be on the outdoor roof patio and be eye to eye with the birds. Up top there's not really any place for them to perch for direct sun if they want it.
An idea for their food dishes would be a piece of plexiglass on the inside above the food dishes and if you wanted portable food dishes, maybe a larger base dish with an umbrella of some kind as part of the dish. You could put them in the cages or anywhere in the aviary.
I love the trees and bushes you chose, a little bit of every kind of foliage to make the aviary seem more natural for the birds!
Oh, quick question.
When the birds were eating their dry mix I thought of them dropping seeds and it made me think about the seeds sprouting in the drains, not a good thing to happen.!!!
Do you have catch screens for any solids, especially seeds, that may get washed down the drains?
That way you can avoid major drain work needing to be done in the future.
If you don't have them I really would suggest you bring that up with whoever would have any knowhow of such a thing, and get some catchment screens made so that they can be easily pulled out and cleaned of debris and returned to the drains.
Awe Malaya 🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦 #MabuhaySquad
Dang Mikey, you're look strong as heck man! the new routine def is agreeing with you!
Awesome 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 #MabuhaySquad
More long vlogs, Mikey! I just can't get enough watching your vlogs! It is a stress reliever for me.
Woow! So hype
wow!! that is stunning, i love it so much, if only you can get canaries, just imagine their singing in that aviary.
Birds would love to spread their wings. I am sure they are ready and excited to fly all over your aviary. The sounds of the fountains provide some sense of serenity. Those dining lightings are beautiful.
omg i feel so jealous RJ fabulous kutchen...cant wait its all ready done!🤩
Yes Defiantly the driftwood will look AMaZing!!!!!!!!!!
So happy to see the aviary fully set up.
Good move on acclimatizing them first.
Do it for a few weeks first.
As for the cages, my experience with these cages (SY series), is that when brought outdoor you will experience rusting in a few months. The plastic wheels at the bottom sucks too, ull need to find caster wheels to replace them later on.
Glad to see the birds getting natural rain and sun.
Youre right about mixing different bird sizes, it can be done and the whole "dont mix them" is really more of a precaution for people who suddenly put birds together or put them in a small enclosure. But yes, since you have 2 flocks here, careful observation during their release is important especially since conures tend to be more assertive.
Everything turned out so amazing
Ligaya would be proud.
The birds looked like they were calming down quickly. I think they trust you a lot Mikey.
Amazing aviary! Really love it as well as your greek tattoo😁
What a beautiful green aviary 😍 😍 😍
WOW! WOW! WOW!
Mikey, think about making a permanent cover over their cages so they always have a dry place to eat or hang out. Maybe incorporate a perch on the covering. They'll always be able to come out into the rain or sunshine when they want to.
Istg im enjoying these longer vlogs so much! I would love to have more aviary/bird related vlogs its just so relaxing
I have been waiting for this since last upload, I'll watch this later after class.
Ganda naman.. Super nakakaingit
Congrats kuya !!! So excited for you. And yes get billy a friend and i think its best to neutor him to avoid breeding. Now am excited for what's next. Are you gonna start a new aquarium? Or are you gonna get Enrique and chickens? Or ducks?
Oh. I forgot to ask what happened to the bantam that mated with a pigeon?
The African grey who's name I have no clue how to spell would have loved it I remember watching her as a baby and you raising her til the day she died I know she's proud of you.
Love your aviary now that greens are up, so beautiful! But my fave is your circular window .😍💖
Yay Early Again 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 #MabuhaySquad
Mikey and his birds!😁
Hi mikey i just noticed, your water fountain, how the water splashes on the surface it will easily Runs out of water.
And i saw how you struggle to use the pale to fill in again
I just want to suggest something that might help you and make things easy
Why dont you put water pump that is connected to tap water and connect it to a smart plug so every 5 or 6 hrs it will open and it will refill the water fountain for maybe a 20 or 30 seconds, so you will not having a hard time and you will have more time to enjoy your aviary.
Love the aviary and the house ❤️🙏
Great job there Mikey getting the birds ready for a different experience 🇨🇦👍
Oh it looks so beautiful, and after a few days and the birds r out flying it will even be better. 😀💖❤
The incredible dining table light fixture reminds me of the old Star Trek episode The Companion! My worries other than the windows in the aviary are that the birds may become less tame, and that diseases may come down into the aviary from the open access above. Everything looks phenomenal!
I got African gray too ! and blue gold Macaw...you should get one....love your home...Napintas! 🤗😍😍
Ligaya would have loved this. I'm sure she's so proud, wherever she is.
I have been here for so long ... (way before ur coming out) I couldn't be so epically impressed by everything you have done .. I remember this as a dream n here it is. GG
Aloha… love you and RJ
Watching your videos in the US was nice.. too bad you didn’t come here to Las Vegas.. You have alot of subscribers here too! Your house is so beautiful… RJ you are doing a great job behind the scenes with the house..God Bless and it warms my heart ❤️ that you have so much love for your babies
Hello 👋 how’re you doing?
Can’t wait to see pups reaction to the aviary
Gorgeous! My husband I suggests you put in a pond with a little waterfall that way it would be less maintenance in the Aviary.
What a nice aviary.. i love that.. birds can fly freely. I looks like a mini paradise..
Love the new channel I was already addicted to antcanada Now I have a new one......
The aviary is a tourist attraction in itself!! Such a tranquil and relaxing environment. 🦅
The aviary is so beautiful looking from all the different parts of the house.
Hi🤝😘😘👍
Wow huge bahay ninyo grabe. So beautiful parang palace
The birds are sure going to have fun pooping on everything 😂
Oh! I just realized since you have a talisay tree then it is easy for you to do black water aquarium setups! Another addition to the antiverse~
it's bird i love you‼️beautiful‼️👍️
I seriously don’t have enough words to explain your content.
