The workers stood behind a fence while the executives and their wives got a concession stand...sounds like just one reason steel plants were closing.

I've seen a lot of things in my time. But to this day, those blast furnaces coming down makes me the saddest

That’s sickening to see and a shame that the people who made the steel and money for those executives that cheered for its demolition

The Chinese Government thanks all the Steel executives and US government officials that help make this possible.

And those pesky, little domestic, non-union, EAF "mini-mills" that have cropped up all over the country.

Rust Belt cities chose economic monocultures and lost the bet. Compare to successful cities with high growth to see what should have been done so more don't repeat the same mistakes. There are plenty of US cities with strong job markets and booming local economies but they diversified their businesses long ago. Americans have plenty of American success to copy, but industrial monocultures of any kind are dangerous. Even the oil industry is feast or famine.
