- What is a Flannel?
Flannel is a type of fabric that has been around for many years. It’s a soft, woven fabric that is typically made of wool or cotton and slightly milled and raised. It initially began with farmers and the working class, who favoured it for its warmth and affordability. As the fabric advanced through the years, a check print was introduced and soon became its signature style. Eventually, in the ’90s, flannel was adopted by the grunge subculture, giving it a new, edgy feel. Today, flannel shirts are still a favourite item for their comfort and effortlessly cool style. As such, they’re a worthwhile addition to every gent’s wardrobe.
Plain or Check Flannel
Flannel shirts are typically offered in check prints, but they’re also available in plain varieties. Whether you choose a plain or check style will affect how and when your wear it. Most the time, check styles of flannel shirts will have a more casual and relaxed feel, while plain versions will create a sharper, more polished appearance. As such, you should choose which to wear based on the look you’re trying to achieve. If you do pick a check flannel, be careful to balance your outfit accordingly. As the print can tend to be quite bold, it’s usually best to keep the rest of your outfit minimal and neutral.
Casual
You’ll probably most often wear your flannel shirt in a casual manner, so it’s important to get it right. Just because your look is casual, doesn’t mean that you can wear it with anything. If you wear a flannel shirt with sweat pants, for example, you’ll appear sloppy. So, stick to jeans for a casual yet fashionable look. Black jeans make a particularly stylish choice with an edgy grunge vibe, but any colour can work. As for footwear, lace-up boots or sneakers are the best choices. Layering a flannel over a T-shirt is also a good casual look and means that you can tie your shirt around your waist when the weather gets warm. Alternatively, try rolling up the sleeves or opt for a short-sleeved style in warmer weather.

Red, black, green, white, grey, and brown flannels all deserve a spot in your clothing rotation and will provide you with the best looks this style has to offer. I’m seriously embarrassed of my flannel collection... I forreal have like 30+ flannels. I had over 50 at one point but gave my brother a ton.. here lately I’ve been looking for and thrifting vintage flannels.. they made them different back then, my oldest one is a 1970 something Sears brand piece and it is so fire. Perfect distressed, perfect fit. It’s dope.
No disrespect to your collection or any piece you’ve just shown. But the dozen or so vintage flannels I’ve thrifted, and even some that I’ve thrifted aren’t even necessarily vintage (but most are) they are just so dope and different patterns and color combos I’ve never seen from any store or fast fashion store. And I haven’t paid more that $3 for one. But those vintage ones are fucking insane dude. I know you like the vintage wash of tshirts a lot. You’d fuck with some of these flannels I’ve picked up. Nobody ever talked about vintage flannels or anything other than T shirts, but I live in Ohio so it gets cold. I really dig the orange and dark blue flannel because of the Broncos. The rest of the flannels are pretty sleek
for the flap of the red/black/beige balenciaga flannel there should be a button under the left shoulder to attach the flap.

Always go to fast fashion for flannels. H&M used to make good color combination on their flannels, I have 3 of them lol. But uniqlo comes with very well organized store, can't resist to picking up more and more clothes.
Zara has fewer option for flannel but it would be best color pattern among them (fast fashion related). Not the cheapest but I think worth it.
One that maybe dumbest reason I choose flannel is 2 chest pocket looks better, period.

Abercrombie & Fitch actually has some nice flannel shirts/shackets, picked up a dk grey/cream/yellow pattern one not too long ago. a lot of clean pretty minimalistic stuff since they rebranded. tho warning still might suffocate walking in there with the amount of fragrance they pump out in that store.

They just entirely changed up the look of their stores, from what I remember them being like when I was back in highschool. Not sure how to explain it really but its a lot more refined now. A lot of minimal branded pieces, saw some blank hoodies with nice washes to them. the flannel shacket I linked is another nice piece I picked up on sale that has no branding on it - and honestly one of the most comfortable things. They also had some suede-like jackets, patterned overcoats, etc.
If you see one around might be worth popping into to take a look. I was honestly surprised.

Ever since Lockdown happend i started growing. Out my hair and wanted go back to back to school with with that kurt cobain Hair but than I found out I don't have the same texture as Him buuutt he was known for wearing Flannels so when school starts ill stick to flannels style with my Long wavy hair maybe it would give out that Kurt cobain vibe like maybe black jeans or dark blue jeans with a black and yellow flannel with some converse shoes hahaha

It's so small that you can't even pop it up when its windy. That's one thing that's important to me when it comes to flannels. Other than that... great collection.
You gotta check out Pendleton and Taylor Stitch too. Those guys have wool flannels, which are very very useful. Clearly you dont mind paying over 100, so wouldn't have a problem with the pricing.
I feel you 10000% on that button. I think maybe they keep it there to keep the aesthetic of the brand since they've probably been doing it forever. But I think they have a couple polos out there that don't have it (not sure I own any myself)
