I have a 67 RS that I've been collecting body panels for the last 3yrs. Plan to start the project shortly, I'll be referring back your videos for tips and procedures. Thank you so very much for taking the time to make these videos!!
I loved that you primed the inside of the door and added the sound absorption before installing the door skins. Something I should have done on my last door.
i usually cut the corners off across 45% before i put the skin on, that way the 'scrape' is out the way for folding over, then like you i weld the corner up, i hammer my flanges over with the door the right way up, on the trestle looking good as always happy thanks giving
messylaura Happy Thanksgiving I'm grateful that you watch and contribute like you do. I always appreciate your input, it's nice having people as knowledgeable as you in my corner.
Looks great Jeff. Thanks for the info on the corners. That's the point I'm trying to get to with my camaro project. I like the looks of the Spectrum. I used raptor on mine, but may give the spectrum a try on my other project.
Double R Restorations I recommend spectrum because it's a true sound deadener. Thanks so much for watching and commenting Russ I appreciate it. Happy Thanksgiving.
Wow I would to send you some pics of my car. I’m about to start a project 71 Camaro and would love some advice on how and were to start. Thanks so much for your videos.
Great work i saw in a comment what is closed coat 80 grit sandpaper i read after the metal prep and do you wash it off with something before you sand it thanks
I need to ship you my Chevelle from Phoenix. Bought new at Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix. I don't want anything fancy but need some kind of color on it.
jamesfreddys 72 with a 421 higg compression small block and a Hughes powerglide. It has the typical rear window leaking issue. Floors and trunk are perfect. Really don't know what color I want yet.
Why do people still use epoxy primer, their is a 2 k primer surfacer that already to spray on bare metal. It is a Direct to metal primer.I just don't get the epoxy, then Sand the epoxy to spray on 2k primer.Back then their was no Direct to metal primer surfacer,so epoxy was the only way.But with the direct to metal primer surfacer, epoxy is not needed.
From what I use surfacer is mainly used over bodywork. Epoxy primer is used over large bare metal areas, can be left alone for long periods of time. All you do to epoxy is scuff or sand, then seal and paint.

Can't believe you have any work there, lots for you here in the rust belt. Tons.
Meticulous and precise are the only words I can think of how I'd gauge your work Jim. Very nice. God bless you and yours.
EdOfTheNorth thanks Ed happy holidays.
Always professional work. Thank you.
NIce job. Really enjoy watching you do this restoration in a small home shop.
It's a little tight but it works out.
I loved that you primed the inside of the door and added the sound absorption before installing the door skins. Something I should have done on my last door.
Great job, working on replacing my chevelle doors skins. Lots of good tips and info. Keep up the great work.
You made doing the door skins on my '67 C10 so much easier. Great video thank you!
Outstanding work Jeff and great tip on the corners. I will have to remember that one.
I did a skin once without noticing the corners need to be trimmed and the rolled right in on me, was a pain to fix.
I like the rubber block idea.
Good to see a video!
I wondered why you wouldn't use a door skin adhesive but I also understand doing what is proper for keeping some originality.
I really appreciate the attention to detail and the quality of your work...a true craftsman! :-)
dale pratt thanks Dale.
Really nice work Jeff. Great informative video as usual. Thanks

Trying to find a video on working a door skin that doesn't fit the car, because the reproduction skins don't fit the cars.
Picked up several tips form this video Jeff. Thanks for sharing!
man your sure take pride in your work
Jeff, after you used the metal prep, what is the next step before primer. Thanks for the videos.
Guy Massaro very aggressive sanding with closed coat 80 sanding paper to bring the metal to bright shiny state then clean and prime.
Looking great
Pull_It_ Appart_Paul thank you.
Great tip on the rubber dolly, I've used an old sanding block for a long time.
That's a rubber sanding block sorry if I called it a dolly I meant to say I was using it as a dolly.
Yeah I knew what it was Jeff, same thing I have used.

Good stuff thanks for sharing
Great information
great work ...
Better off buying a whole repop door. I did this and wasn’t worth it. Still had to weld up front, rear and bottom of door edges to get correct gap.
Nice skills
what brand skins did you use?
nice work !
Craig Voisin thanks
I got a question, right after the slick sand epoxy primer, do you have to use 2k after then primer sealer?
Slackerz Sincity it’s not a bad idea to use a sealer before base coat.
Great work i saw in a comment what is closed coat 80 grit sandpaper i read after the metal prep and do you wash it off with something before you sand it thanks
265chevy I'll show this in my next video.
ok great will be watching thanks
like a surgeon!
Are you happy with the quality of the AMD door skins?
Ray Ray I'm very happy with the quality they're not perfect but neither am I AMD is helping save this car from the bone yard.
I need to ship you my Chevelle from Phoenix. Bought new at Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix. I don't want anything fancy but need some kind of color on it.
king0cans I'm ready for it. What year is your Chevelle?
jamesfreddys 72 with a 421 higg compression small block and a Hughes powerglide. It has the typical rear window leaking issue. Floors and trunk are perfect. Really don't know what color I want yet.
king0cans I'd love to work on it.
jamesfreddys next time I get to Tucson we can talk.
Awesome doors sir can I ask you a question where in California do you live it looks like you live in the desert Bakersfield or something
I'm living in Tucson. Thanks for watching.
This is over kill, better than factory. Every spec on this car is done correct.
Jeff, I always thought the 67 Camaros had wing windows. The only year.. Is that correct? Ron
zzzdogutube that's right Ron wing windows in 67 and Astro ventilation in 68. Thanks so much for watching I appreciate it.
You need to come back to New York for Christmas. It is beautiful here in Binghamton..
zzzdogutube I remember how pretty it was that time of year.
sure beats trying to make a bunch of patches,
Yup the original door skins were a mess. Thanks for watching Darrin I appreciate it.
why didnt you just go with complete doors? Woulda been a whole lot easier/ faster!!

Filiberto Barrera the DTM’s that I am familiar with only stick to metal that is smaller than 1”.
