Any reason why you not using a gasket?

Yep. Don't need one there. Gasket doesnt prevent a leak at that spot. The liner acts as the gasket. Plus. Afte,r 30 plus years I've never seen a leak at a return faceplate. Even if it's all cracked. The compression of the water pushing the liner against the wall fitting seems to seal it pretty good.

Now please do a video, on skimmer faceplate replacement on inground vinyl liner. I am worried liner will droop and water willrush in behind liner. Thanks

I have steel wall inground pool. Rust around edges, i watched install, it was a cardboard looking gasket that came with skimmer originally.

@@scolli3648 you will have to drop the water just below the skimmer. It's different for the return because of the pressure around it. Even with the faceplate off the return jet, most likely it won't leak.
