Adam Bull began his training at Dance World 301 with Brian Nolan before joining The Australian Ballet School; in 2000, he represented Australia in the Paris International Ballet Competition. He graduated from The Australian Ballet School with honours in 2001 and joined The Australian Ballet in 2002. In 2008, after just six months as a senior artist, he was promoted to principal artist.
Adam has danced all the major lead roles of the classical canon, and also relishes contemporary works, particularly those by George Balanchine, Graeme Murphy, Christopher Wheeldon, Wayne McGregor, Jiří Kylián and Alice Topp. He also enjoys darker dramatic roles such as Diaghilev in John Neumeier’s Nijinsky and Crassus in Lucas Jervies’ Spartacus. After 22 years with The Australian Ballet, Adam retired in 2023.

He's such a wonderful performer and modest decent guy. And after your lovely trip, Adam, I hope the ballet world embraces you once again, but in a different role, sharing your experience and wisdom with another generation. Take care❤❤❤
Fabulous interview. Thank you so very much David and Adam. I wish you only the very best for your future, Adam.
Well said. This is another example of how respectful Hallberg is of the dancers of the Australian Ballet. Not just a last performance and party, but giving a great Principal Artist a proper opportunity to reflect and comment on his career.
What an excellent interview. Congratulations Adam on a wonderful career and enjoy your well-earned down time.
Such a great dancer & so loved by the company whereas it was not simply Adam Bull was a great dancer but mentor too. Go well in your future endeavours.
David Hallberg - Marco Spada - the best!
nice guy ......there is a life after ballet
So Mr Hallberg did you preface your interviews at ABT with acknowledgment to the Cherokee, Apache, Sioux and many tribes slaughtered under American colonial rule?
Congratulations Adam on your career. The last dance will be so hard for you but what a wonderful future you and your partner have planned. If your partner is not a part of the dance world then they have given up a lot for you just so you could dance. Partner time now. Well deserved. Enjoy your travelling.🩰🩰🩰🩰🩰🩰🙏👵🇦🇺
