Awesome, thank you!
Yeah, me also.
That flap-sanding trick alone is worth the price of admission.
Who knew rubber bands were the unsung hero of the woodworkers shop. Awesome tricks.
Best dollar I've ever spent. Rubber band on squeeze clamp. Thanks Izzy
Rubber bands have to be one of the best clamps that are under used, and simply don’t think of it.
Awesome tips as always.
They really do come in handy quite often
Rubber band clamps something every kid that built a model airplane used 50 years ago. Don't ask me how I know this . Also the dowel sander also works with scotch bright to polish holes made in metal pieces.
Rubber bands are great clamps for a lot of purposes. And if you need a very large band, you can tie a loop in a length of rubber hose.
Great video, great tips. Now I just have to remember them. Hahaha. The pinking shears are a great idea.
For stronger, more durable rubber bands you can cut up used inner tubes. They come in all different sizes and you can cut them radially to get rings at whatever width you need or cut them along the circumstance into long strips which are handy for clamping odd shapes.
Make friends at a local bike shop and you can probably get an assortment of busted tubes for free or cheap
Damn! That mag switch hack and spring clamp with rubber bands ….. ugh amazing
sweet, glad you liked it
Izzy you been around a long time and you are truly an innovative, knowledgeable, and very talented maker. Much respect.
Very kind of you to say. Thank you very much.
I would even further. He is simply a genius. YES you are 😊. I hope you realize that, Izzy. And you seem to be a very friendly person too.
Rubber bands, magnets & Velcro! Brilliant, just brilliant, thanks!
Glad you liked it
I liked the magnet and the flap sander. Simple and easy, and I would not have thought of it myself.
The Magnet and Flap Sander. Isn't that a pub in Stepney?
Izzy you are like the Dali Lama of shop tips. There are lots of tips are posted on the web that help you do one thing once in a while. But your tips are actually helpful every day....or at least every week or two. That edge banding tip alone was awesome. No more strips of tape hanging off my sleeves.
One of those videos that have us saying,' why didn't I think of that'. Thanks brutha
So glad you liked it
love those sanding hacks. Will use that on my next sculpture for sure!
Loved turning the dowel into a flap disk. Definitely a game changer for handsanding. As for sandpaper on painting stick, I apply sand paper on a reciprocating saw blade without the teeth and makes quick work out of sanding in between areas. Just don’t go full blast with saw.
thanks for the valuable tips.. hugs and a happy 2023
I knew there was a better way! Thanks Izzy!
As a professional mechanic I actually have a squirt bottle of dish soap and water at my toolbox. It’s great for slipping hoses back on cars and you can spray your hands and wash with it if you’re not near a sink. Lots of great tips in this video Izzy!
That's a great idea! Thank you for watching
These were some of the best tips I've seen on CZcams. Thanks for sharing them.

These "tips" are ridiculous! They are ridiculously simple. An even more ridiculous i hadn't thought of them 20 years ago! Thanx Izzy, ur the man! 👊🏿
Great tips video. That flap sander is pure genius. I will definitely use that.
You have all new surfaces if you put your drill in reverse.
Glad you liked it!!
Thought this guy was a homeowner hack, glad I watched. I’ve subscribed
Hey Izz!
I notice that you incorporate quite a bit more humor into your vids since you got your back fixed. Funny how that sort of thing helps one's disposition.
The mag switch blew my mind! All were great tips, thank you so much.
I put some rubber band edge clamps in my cart for a project where I need to do a lot of edge banding, but haven't paid yet. Now I can empty my cart and use the 50 spring clamps I already own. brilliant idea! Thank you

I have two pairs of circlip pliers for just that, the kind with changeable heads and put the head on so it’s squeeze to open
You always deliver with good tips and efficient techniques.

0.0-something-cent hack with rubber band is awesome! thank you!
Muchas gracias por compartir...saludos cordiales desde Aguascalientes, México!!
Simple to complicated. Izzy never stops thinking. He is not trapped in this is how we always do it.
Mag switch great for steel bolts, for s/s bolts dab CA glue washer/nut together.
Put masking tape on one side of spanner to stop nut falling through.
Put masking tape on sanding stick before using double sided tape/ spray glue to stick sandpaper on makes replacement easier.
Love the magnet trick very handy!
Thank you for this video, for sharing all these really surprising ideas, a big thank you, it will be useful to me in my workshop. Take care of yourself. Happy New Year😄✌

Dowel and sandpaper. Yeah! Thanks.
9:16 You can also use old sanding sponges wrapped with sand paper. It works well on tight spaces & wonders on contours. Sand paper lasts much longer than the sand sponges & costs less, plus some styles have different angles which can also be beneficial.
Thanks for the tips. I was about ready to buy a bunch of 'bandy clamps' until I added them to my cart and saw the price. Never mind! I used rubber bands and cheap spring clamps. They worked great and saved me $$$$
That saving and thus buying more tools logic speaks to me so well. Mmmmmmmm.
Thank you for confirming the masking tape edge hack.

The magnet on the bolt for holding the washers made me really feel like I've wasted probably hours of my life assembling things the hard way
Absolutely! Rubber bands on a spring clamp….It’s gotta be the genesis of the “Bandy Clamp” sold by …. .
I have done the picking shears with a used gift card to spread the glue when I glued two sheets of plywood to make my workbench top.

The elastic band tricks were pretty good!
Paused the video, went to see if I have some rubber bands! Great stuff, thanks for another great video! Happy New Year to you and yours!
Rather than a jar and a brush to lube the hose and blast gate, I always have a spray bottle with water and Simple Green handy. I use it on my water stones and ceramic Shapton stones, makes a good applicator, slick enough.
Helpful as ever !
Thank you for this video. I am having to get adaptive with my wood working after a accident, so some of these are really going to be helpful for mono-handing in the shop. The humble rubber band!
