- This Friendship bracelet tutorial shows how to DIY heart friendship bracelets. These DIY bracelets are really easy, simple, but cute and I show how to make them step by step, slowly for beginners. To make one of these cute heart bracelets you need embroidery floss, string or a thread and a cute button. We will make an awesome DIY button ending to this heart friendship bracelet, which will allow us to take the bracelet on and off our wrist without damaging it. You can use any color you would like to make these bracelets to match your outfit, so these bracelets are always fashionable. You can wear these DIY heart friendship bracelets alone or you can pair them with other bracelet jewelry. They go great with either gold or silver bracelets. These bracelets are a great gift and perfect for Valentines Day! If you use darker colors perhaps these bracelets can be worn by men (your boyfriend) or you can make it for your best friend. I have made three heart bracelets just for me!

We need four pieces of string for this heart friendship bracelet DIY. We pull strings together, make a knot in the middle of the bracelet and tape strings to a flat surface. Then we start to knot and to make a heart friendship bracelet we need to know how to make two different knotting rows -- a normal and a special friendship bracelet rows. For that, we need to learn how to make two knots -- a forward and a backward knot. Then we just continue with rows, two special and two normal until the heart friendship bracelet is long enough to fit around our wrist. This is all there is to this easy for beginners friendship bracelet DIY.
In this friendship bracelet tutorial I show how to make a heart pattern. OMG, you are an angel! You are the first person whose tutorial didn't confuse my stupid brain and I actually understood clearly how to do the pattern! For anyone who struggles with forward and backward knots: write letter four on a piece of paper, put a line on the right of it and then pretend that line is a mirror and draw mirrored 4 on the right of the line. Now that line in the middle is the middle between 8 strings on bracelets. 4 on the left, 4 on the right. It's easier!
finished mine in one night and was super proud of it despite it being my first time doing the heart pattern :)

Yup. And now that I understand what I’m supposed to do, I can’t keep what I’m doing straight in my head. “Did I already tie two knots or only one? Which row am I on? 2nd normal or first special?” Not to mention that I can’t keep my string from moving. Ugh.

this is an overall good tutorial but i recommend making your string longer than instructed because I found that I ran out of string with 50 inches

I was feeling down as my daughter got this book that teaches how to make these bracelets. She's chosen the heart one and asked me to do it. It's been almost 6 months now and I never wanted to try as I just couldn't do it. So difficult!
I am a man by the way but this doesn't mean a lot but trust me, I just couldn't do it. So tonight she was at it again asking me to do the heart bracelet. I tried, I promise but couldn't go beyond the knot.

the reason she says is takes “3 hours” is because thats what she is expecting a beginner who has never done this before would take. if you have some experience in this like making chevron bracelets, it should only take an hour to an hour and a half. it all depends on skill level.

try it couple of times,as I did.
If you want to make it a little bit easier,simply use thick yard (not super duper thick tho ) and belive it works,it takes time and needs effort but believe trying it couple of times ,makes it easier and better.

My first try of this was a disaster. My string was so long it was tangling and my knots were all various tightness so some knots would look nice and tight and some were loose and making it all wonky. Once you get the hang of it it's easy to remember how to do it and just zone out and watch TV or listen to music while you do the repetitive knotting. Thank you for this tutorial! I'm such a beginner but I'm learning to make these for my friends.
