You won't find these 3 species together very often either!! The NQ Snapper season is a fairly short window in winter where we can get out and have a crack at snapper, and the best part is, they're all BIG! Ive been fairly persistent on chasing these guys on lures up here and every time one hits the deck its a special day! Fishing with a brand new rod just released at AFTA by Nomad Design, the 7'6 12-25lb Sea Core was epic for inshore plastics and as you'll see it didn't take long to put a bend in it!

Dont get me wrong, fun video to watch - but bloody frustrating, I went out 3 times during the good weather and caught a total of 1 macktuna.....very demoralizing. Glad someone around here is catching fish!
Haha I grew up fishing the area so I’ve done a fair bit of pre fishing 😅 but there are plenty of good days to be had, there’s heaps to learn from my videos, spots aren’t everything!! Technique and tackle is key and learn about the species you want to target. I wish the information I, and others on CZcams put out was available when I was learning to fish with lures!

Mick i got busted off at the spot about 5 years ago didnt know what it was. we went back there for another look 2 days later and i caught a snapper with line hanging out its mouth when we filleted it that arvo it was my exact hook and line from 2 days ago!! it had swallowed my hook and bit off the leader!!!!
