Well done from start to finish. Thank you for sharing. Your video starts with a great example of what your final talking points cleared up. We also us a "V split" technique and find it very effective. I agree with Mr. Oxley that a bi-directional flow of water from a nozzle will result in a return of steam in a sealed up basement. I doubt you are suggesting to let the home burn to the ground as much as I doubt the creators of the video are suggesting we send our people into the basement for a steam bath they will never forget. He does address a stairway size up and as all of us know the decision ot got into a basement MUST be supported and led by an EXPERIENCED company officer.
Sitting on the outside of a stairwell vs the middle lines up with the structural strength of a wood staircase. Keeping a sounding boot in front sounding the weakest part of a stairway before committing down makes sense to me. Tucking a hose line tight under a firefighters arm as they descend the stairs provides a safety line to the upstairs environment if the stairwell were to give way. Flowing water before you commit to the stairs then constantly flowing water into the basement will reduce the temperature a firefighter must endure.
In the 8 minutes it took for me to watch the video and listen to the lesson at the end I did see a firefighter who has the passion and drive to share to improve. He has left the comments of his video open which is a brave thing to do.
UL, NIST, FSRI and ISFSI are all studying this subject and are offering a free class to the fire service to assist in the science meets the street collaboration.

You are making good points about their incompetence, but you are being too kind in your presentation. Your kindness won't help the widows and fatherless children left behind because of this example of stupidity.

Hey How from Germany, i have a question to the Stairpocedure. Why you open the nozzle by the downpush? Its an massiv Steam elevation to the nozzleman an the Guys upstairs.

the only problem is we have to go down the stairs backwards

i dont like that stair method at all. When sounding the stairs this way all your weight is forward. IF you find a soft step your going for a ride on the Ghetto Elevator.

You would never use that much water as the steam you create would force you back out due to the heat.
