I live in the region where a few maned wolves inhabit, the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. There's an old catholic sanctuary in the mountains that everyone can visit, it's called "Santuário do Caraça" and is a natural heaven. One of the sanctuary priest's tradition is to feed the local maned wolves at night (you can find videos of it on CZcams), it attracts tourists and helps a lot with preservation efforts. The maned wolf is extremely rare, bealtiful and has maybe the most unique vocalization in the animal world.
You really shouldn't tell anyone where they live because of trophie hunters
@@davidpoole8840 it's public knowledge in Brazil.
Beautiful animal, we need to protect them from extinction... 😢
How?
@@triumph.over.shipwreck Protecting their natural habitat and alert people to stop killing them. There's many other ways, but this two are the most important
@@nightfairy3282 #1 is actionable how?
And #2 means what exactly? Because simply telling people to not do something is not an effective method to get people to stop doing something.
Getting to see one of these in real life was an amazing experience
Yes it is!!!
The Emas National Park in Brazil is the best spot to find wild Maned Wolf.
I love that!
Yeah
Absolutely beautiful animals maned wolves and to think they survive on fruit and such small pray.
I'm still shattered from the wolf in Wyoming so to see this is beautiful--TY!
Looks like what I would think a werewolf to be.
The name of "lobeira fruit" was given because of the great interest that lobos (wolfs) have on them.
Always so beautiful
What beautiful, beautiful wolves please protect them. Please don’t let them go extinct like a lot of the animals have it just breaks my heart when they go extinct.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lobo-guará, aqui no Brasil.
❤❤❤Beautiful nature
Wow.. I never would have thought they went that far south.
Yes, live in Cerrado biome.
At this moment this channel is exploding my notification for uploading so fast
..beautiful animals 🐾
You don't really think of wolves hunting for... fruit!
Yeah, it didn't make any sense to me either.
You're right.
Maned Wolf is so different, but when we know his habitat...we understand.
Solanum lycocarpum, also called lobeira and wolf apple, is a member of nightshade family, the fruit looks kinda like tomato and is edible for human as well
Perfect ❣️
The coat is beautiful!! What an amazing creature ♡
Damn a fruit is half of it's diet that's crazy thinking of a wolf!!!
What are these red mounds? Are they from termites?
Yes! They are very common in the central region of Brasil, in the ecosystem we call Cerrado
@@cerradoboy Awesome! Thank you for the info. ♥️
Nice name.
🌳🍃
Amazing animals. We see them on a regular basis in parts of Bolivia. We offer photography /wildlife tours in Bolivia to see these amazing animals.
❤❤❤
if you’re reading this i’m wishing nothing but positivity for you. you will be successful just keep working prayers up blessings up!🙏🏽
Sehr schön Gruss Jürgen 🤠
Definately a lone Wolf. Surprised it doesn't have fish in its diet. Guess its not in the right area for it. Time to do some research.,, So the maned wolf has a great variety of foods in its diet including fish. It's currently on the threatened list but not endangered yet. It's species has been in decline recently. We need to protect all our wild animals. Please contribute when possible in saving our furry friends. Imagine a world without them how horrible it would be.
Tall criture
is a DeerFox like mythical beast in your dream
If it hops like a fox and hunts like a fox and is red Fox with black legs like a red Fox then it's the long legged Fox and no one can tell me otherwise ! 🦊
Fun fact: maned wolves are not actually wolves.
Fun Fact #2: The brazil nut is not actually a nut 😂
A crossover between fox and dog, it seems
Helo tuyệt vời quá ❤❤❤
Too short !
What’s up with the „nitrogen“ angle on nutrition? Seems a bit awkward imo.
LOL 😆 I was thinking the same. Maybe someone was messing with the script? 😁
@@terriwetz6077 I think it’s a new trend the climate alarmists are trying to push. The access to nitrogen usually comes at a lesser priority after the absolute necessities, water and calories.
The wolf will probably get enough essential amino acids from a few rodents, but not nearly enough calories (or water) to keep going…
Nitrogen is the basis of amino acids, and hence proteins. No nitrogen in, no protein, no wolf!
@@webtoedman Of course, but only plants can make proteins from nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Animals must consume plants and/or meat. Counting nitrogen remains a highly unusual way of relating to protein-availability…
@@Hallands. True, but it probably provides an absolute base line for expressing availability, even if the protein in question is still sequestered in a mouse or a fruit.
It looks more like a bigger jackal & hunts like a fox! Unlike a general image of wolf as a pack hunter ..... As a final touch, fructivorous. An outlier, an exquisite article of nature, or of a whim of god ..
They may be called the maned wolf but they are not actually wolves they are a separate canine species of just themselves
Isn’t the top predator where maned wolves live cougars ?
"Maned" wolves live in Brazil. They cannot be found in North America.
@@LCMM2150 cougars can be found in South America too
It seems like this wolf likes to hunt alone. They do not hunt in large packs like wolves and wild dogs
Manned wolves, Lobo guará, are not true wolfs as in fact they have their own evolutionary history apart from other canines. They are a very unique species in terms of behaviour, diet, etc.
I thought it was a fox
Long fox lopes long way.
Maned fox most likely
leggi boi monching on apples
Hyena-deer-doggies!
Social anxiety canine
Looks like fox 😂
Living off mouse nuggets. Sounds like junk food.
