This video "C07 - Tuning" shows how to tune harmonica reeds using the HOHNER harmonica tuner.
The HOHNER SERVICE WORKSHOPS HARMONICA are designed to show you what a quantum leap you can make if you learn to maintain and repair your instrument yourself. Once you've got the hang of it, you will own instruments which are priceless, because they are set up to reflect your requirements as a player.

Thank you so much for posting this video, the Bb on my melodica has been hilariously sharp for the past two years and I have no idea how to tune it. Such a big help!

This reminds me of crime watch from the 80s
Did you notice the way his head shot over to the other camera lol, and yes he did see you bend the wind saver when you were filing the reed ,I bet he felt like telling her off so unprofessional lol,
Jesus Christ its like a world war speech for us to get ready for these harmonica to be used as a weapon` and the lady looks like she is ready to kill me through the screen, "Help"
Please don`t ` ill let you plink my Harmonica if it will make you happy. lol
All joking aside this has been filmed with great close ups of the piece in question and your speech is very clear and precise thank you for the tips and technic, Very helpful

My brand new Hohner Crossover in C came with Db in the first draw hole. 😢
I'm not a proficient technician but I'll need to give it a try.

4:48 _"File from the tip towards the rivet"_ and the file could catch the tip of the reed causing the tip (about 1/5mm) to bend up wrecking the reed -- I just found that out about 10 minutes ago. Better to file towards the tip rather the rivet end. Now the way in this video may work OK in most cases, and be more convenient, but particularly the thin reeds (e.g. at hole 10) should not be done this way.

Hello. I have a chromatic as well and am glad you posted these videos. But I have a couple of issues I hope that you could help me with. 1 the hohner I have doesn't have screws in the plates, so
I don't know bouquet to remove them. 2 on a couple of holes (when I blow) it seems to want to stick and then play as if something is stuck. 3 a couple out the very high holes (10-12) donct want to give their note when I blow and suck. Its very hard to get a note. Can you help me?

Hi. Thanks for video. Just a question, I've noticed on picture you have whole metal plate on reed, not separate planks like on most accordions. What kind of metal this is? Is it from aluminium or brass? I have brass plates 4reeds on each side and accordion very heavy, but the sound amazing loud and multisounded (like a church organ), as it has also has tempered tuning. I've noticed some false sounds. Is your tuner will help me to tune those complicated tuned sounds? Thank you before hand.

+Run13 Buddhabrot .....because this rasping around the filigranic instrument defies human dignity, and she is probably mind kontrolled slave....which explains why i'll probably never get a chance to learn how to play chromatic harmonica, though i'd like to....those instruments are probably (at least partly) manufactured by slaves in some far away outpost of hohner affiliated faciity, and when they arrive to "expensive" (suffocating, polluted, mediocre) "first world" - it becomes cheaper to buy the new one (when out of tune) than to pay someone for tuning it (they'd need to send it across the world to tune it affordably) - and the only other option is to keep on rasping like "ziggy dust" (he was the watch maker prior to becoming the superstar of the rubish bins) or give up the idea of playing chromatic harmonica...which is probably half a way to the true enlightenment - that would (i suspect) only arrive if one decides not to play any music at all in "first world country" (cause "art" and "first world" are contradictions in terms, the whole idea of "first world" is in being a parasite, siphoning goods from "other worlds" and passing most of it to ET's, keeping some trinkets for yourself, and rasping like an idiot, to tune the instrument, if you want to make bit of quiet music, at risk of being arrested if it becomes "too loud", i.e. not sad and miserable enough to be considered "quiet" ...nothing to do with decibels)
