    Tony, I am planning a three week trip to Spain this winter and I cannot articulate my gratitude to you. Your videos are a wealth of information and have hit all of the question marks I had when I started planning. You are the best tour guide I have found on CZcams. Muchisimas gracias por todo. Mi esposo y yo estamas quedando en Sevillla quatro noches, incluida Las Navidad. I have booked three hotels and need to cancel two. One of them made your list: Corral del Rey. Los otros son: Hotel Unuk y Casa del Poeta. Sabes algo sobre los otros? Thank you!

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Před 8 měsíci

      Dear Amy, many thanks for your kinds words. The three are very beautiful hotels, all in the centre of Seville. Casa del Poeta is particularly nice but it's right in the heart of the barrio de Santa Cruz. If you are traveling heavy it might be a problem to get to it, as the entire neighborhood is mostly pedestrian only. Yo creo que en cualquiera de los tres vais a estar muy bien. Elige el que más te agrade por precio y apariencia. Un saludo cordial.

    We stayed at the Pensione Cordoba, which was walking distance to everything. Comfortable beds, bathrooms American's would approve of, and the twin sisters that owned it were so nice and directed us to the best tapas bars in the area, and the new Flamenco theater that was just around the corner. I would recommend this place to anyone.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel....muchas gracias. Coming to Spain in November for the first time for 8 days. Planning a side trip to Seville. Our flight back to the States leaves at 4PM.....your thoughts on taking an early morning train from Sevilla to Madrid on the same day as flying? There is a train that is scheduled to arrive back in Madrid at 10AM I would think that should be a decent amount to time to catch a 4pm flight....your thoughts? And thank you for the accomodation and food suggestions

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Před 10 měsíci

      Flight to train is one thing, train to flight a very different one. If you miss the flight, the damage is considerable. We always advise to avoid train and flight on the same day, but if you do it, leave a buffer of at least 8 hours. Be aware that flying to the US you have to be at the airport at least 3 hours in advance.

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal

      Laura, Santa Cruz is a neighborhood overrun by tourism. Most locals have had to leave the area as tourist flats expanded occupying every single corner of the neighborhood.

    Can you also share how are airbnb in Seville?

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Před 3 měsíci

      AirBnb for us are an absolute no-no. A substantial part of AirBnb flats in the tourist cities of Spain are in the hand of foreign capital through investment funds. Where you had a local resident before now you have an empty flat during most months of the year (for the investor it pays to have the flat closed most of the year, they recover the investment with 3 or 4 months of tourist rentals). Lifelong local residents were forced to leave and relocate to the outskirts of the cities. Local shops are closing down and being replaced by souvenir shops. The process of urban degradation in places like the neighborhood of Santa Cruz in Seville is probably irreversible, but many of us would like to prevent it from spreading to many other areas.
      As a traveler, as a tourist, I will do everything I can to avoid that my actions have a negative impact in the lives of the people of the places I visit. And Airbnb has contributed immensely to the housing shortage in the tourist cities of Spain, the displacement of locals and the disruption in residential neighborhoods unlucky to have gained "Airbnb" neighbors.
      On top of that, there are many regulations in place limiting short-term rentals through the platforms. In a substantial number of cases, they are completely illegal.
