    You did all that for $1,800? I've seen quite a few JP vehicles, a few of them explorers, and no one made that convex roof, let alone made it for under $10,000. Your heart is clearly in it. You have my respect.

    As a former owner of a stock Eddie Bauer one of these, and a diehard JP1 fan, I can truly enjoy this build and the video is great!
    I would get some movie sound bites to blare out a custom horn:
    “Now you might actually have some dinosaurs on your on your dinosaur tour?”
    “ITS THE OTHER CAR!”
    “Where’s the goat?”

  • @mrlizzard94

  • @michaelkaybecker
    @michaelkaybecker Před 7 lety +35

    Cool stuff. One thing to remember is the average onlooker hasn't studied what the explorer is supposed to look like. If you didn't show me the parts missing I doubt I would notice

    • @Themaxleydog
      @Themaxleydog  Před 7 lety +7

      I suppose I like to highlight the parts missing and the flaws , to show that I really do know what it's supposed to be like. I don't want it to seem like I'm generalizing it and don't care for the original or how it's supposed to look. That and people will point out the parts missing or the flaws in the comments and it's a nice way to show I'm aware of it ahead of time.

    @Pr0DlgY Před 6 lety +3

    Creds man.. Even tho it's not 100% accurate, and has flaws here and there. It's one of the best JP explorers i have seen. The roof helped a LOT. i have seen many "accurate" recreations with screen accurate parts and what not, but the paint job is off, and they are missing the roof. Which is essential IMO. Follow your dream man. I'm sure one day you will get it 100% right. Even tho it's good enough as it is. Thanks for sharing

    You've captured the true essence of the truck. The little things like the stripe positions and correct gradient really sell it, and help make it convincing; the trucks you showed where they'd got that wrong were instantly and obviously incorrect, whereas it's much easier to forgive the errors on yours even if you know they're there.
