WFH: attempting productivity with bipolar disorder and ocd

This vlog is for the days when you just have to push through. Sharing about my mental health is scary - I always worry that I sound complain-y or silly, or that no one will be able to relate and I'm going through these thoughts and feelings alone. BUT I'm telling myself that just isn't true.
When I was first diagnosed with bipolar disorder, I couldn't find anyone my age online who was talking about it. I don't have all the answers, but at the very least, I hope sharing my journey helps someone else feel less alone.

My name is Mary, I'm 24, and I live in Northern Virginia (just outside of DC!) with my fiance. I'm a freelance editor/writer and content creator. I'm currently working on a graduate certificate at UW, and my dream is to work in publishing. I spend too much time on walks and too much money at bookstores. I have bipolar disorder and OCD, and those two conditions shape every single moment of my life. It's my goal to create a life for myself that honors my mental health, while not allowing it to hold me back. I'm happy you're here x

Have you ever considered that the so called "medicine" the Doctor is giving you could be making your worse? I know many people w mental illness personally who have gotten worse over time. Eventually there is no goin back. Changing your diet, excersise, & meditation are all options that actually work but not if you believe doctors that don't even study your diet or the most important system in your body. (The endocannabanoid system) See if your doctor knows anything about the system above all other systems. If they don't then they are a pill pusher that I would not call a doctor.

I love this video! Personally I struggle with anxiety and depression and I love the honesty and how this shows that we are allowed to have bad days. We can acknowledge it, allow ourselves to have a day to regroup and then take action to get back to our version of "normal". Also, I've personally never experienced anyone in my life that has bipolar disorder and ocd (that I know of) so I love watching videos that educate people on what it feels like and what a person is going through so that others can understand. I just started the video, and tysm for sharing, I really needed this, I’m also bipolar, and it’s so relatable for me that u work for urself, cuz same, I always say idk what I would do if I didn’t work for myself I don’t think I’d be able to keep a job, cuz my mood changes so often and I’m always very sure about my ideas in the moment. Also I can’t be consistent for the life of me, so I feel lucky that someone with bipolar has a CZcams channel cuz If I want one I have to be normal long enough to record and edit and release, but I never last long enough and when i do im so happy I try to take advantage of that time to get necessities done before I go back to not caring sm I would go homeless before getting up to work. So you’re giving me hope.💗

So I’m not diagnosed with bipolar, like I’ve just confirmed it with myself that I do have it and yk I’ve had my suspicions for a couple of months and I do have diagnosed social anxiety and today was just such a rough rollercoaster like I’m going in no sleep, horrible anxiety and depression and mania all at once and also kind of separated and I gotta say I’ve never felt more understood before like this really does give me a little more hope that even tho it can be so hard and stressful and crazy that you can still live life and enjoy it at times but I definitely have a long road ahead of me but I’m kinda nervous and scared and low-key dreading telling my parents and having them help me with getting a diagnosis so any tips on that. I know this message got long but it’s just so new for me so I have so many thoughts and questions🫶🏼

It’s honestly the Lord Jesus Christ that has helped me with my mental instabilities that I have gone through for almost a decade. There’s this prayer that I read when I was 12 I believe my an anonymous person names Footprints in the Sand and it says this:
“One night I dreamed a dream. I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.
When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.
‘Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I'm aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don't understand why, when I need You most, You leave me.’
He whispered, ‘My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.’”
I hope that this gives you peace, clarity, and hope that God that is real, He loves you, wants a relationship with you, but He won’t force you do get to know Him. That is the reason why God gave us free will so that we can personally get to know Him.
Intrusive thoughts are from the enemy-the devil. He does not want people to get to know God because he knows that once people place their faith in Jesus-the Son of God, he does not have a grip on them anymore. I encourage you to start reading the Bible which is the Word of God. The book of Psalms is one of my favorite in the Old Testament. I recommend reading the Bible in the CSB version (Christian Standard Bible).
As a 19 year old, I am well aware that there are distractions out there. Truth is not subjective, it’s factual. When I read the Bible, the Holy Spirit (God’s Spirit who is also God-there’s only one God-Isaiah 45:6) guides me into the Truth about who God is, who He has always been, and who He will always be-GOD (Hebrews 13:8). I am able to look back on my past growing up in my relationship with God developing for when I was a little all the way up to now, I am grateful that even in the midst of uncertainty and hardship, He (God) has carried me through.
    God bless you beautiful 💕
