I have over 15,000 90% constitutional half dollars in my junk melt silver pile. I have barbers walkers Franklin's and Kennedys. I have 3 5 gallon pails of 90% washington quarters. Each PAIL has over 23,500 individual quarters. I have 2 5 gallon pails full of 90% mercury dimes. I have 1 5 gallon pails full of 90% Roosevelt dimes. 70,000 ASE'S in sealed mint monster boxes. Numerous Mason jars full of Morgan and PEACE dollars. Kilo 10 and 5 oz. bullion bars of .999 and
9999 silver. And thousands of .999 silver rounds. Been collecting over 70 years since my childhood paper route days back in the mid 50'S & 60'S everything was constitutional silver back then.

In awe of you sir. 70 years, wow! Sounds like you have a simply amazing legendary collection! I would love to go through just the half dollars you have, but you have so much more! I can't even imagine a time with so much silver in circulation. Best memory I have is Las Vegas when they used to have coins in the slots. Took me hours to play because I was checking every coin! I appreciate you sharing.

What's the rough value on this, over the coins' face value?

With silver where it is, 40% Kennedy halves melt value is around $4, the 90% halves around $10. It can be hard to get full melt though, depending on how you offload them.
