*Thank you for clicking on these whether you shop or not! It helps me out!
It makes a lot of sense the Home School planner is undated. Not everyone starts at the same time, and what may be a small alteration for one person may be a big alteration for someone else if the planner was dated. It’s really easy to date an undated planner. If you don’t want to write the information in, there are plenty of small shops that make stickers just for this purpose. Dating it yourself makes it so much easier to change the monthly layout from a Sunday to a Monday start, or change the weeks from a Monday start to a Sunday start. Back in December I dated an undated 6 Month Planner that has monthly, weekly, and daily layouts. I think it took about 2 hours, mostly because I was deciding between which font to use in the stickers I chose!
You make an excellent point about Sunday versus Monday starts! I use so many stickers all the time that I don’t mind that it’s undated.
I get this, but I also don’t have time to be dating a calendar. I used the homeschool one this past school year, and while I loved it, it took forever to date it. Now last summer I was snuggling a newborn on the couch and could work on it, but this year I have a busy baby, plus my other three kids to keep up with. And I don’t have the budget to buy a bunch of stickers. Because it was undated I went with another company’s planner. I’ll miss the EC because I really did love it, but ultimately went in another direction because of this reason. But hopefully there are enough people who prefer it that way and can use it! It’s definitely a great one!
I have been a rose gold member/using EC for 8 years now.. But these prices on pens are killin me, Im having to find alternatives. I can also honestly say I do not get as excited about launch as I did in the years past. Since EC herself left, things have changed :( The products do not nessesserly have new exciting things to them, all the stickers are the same as the past several years... its gettting boring. I finally bought a plum paper planner last wee for my work planner.... Still debating on buying EC or not for my personal one... They may have completely lost me as a customer :(
I’m with you on a few points. The stickers could use more drastic updates in my opinion. And I only buy the pens when they’re on sale. Even so, I still enjoy the quality and style of my LifePlanner!
Use the dark highlighters to time block by highlighting vertically
I love that idea! Thanks, Samantha!
I was not a teacher but I could see where this information is all in one place, decorated nicely, cheerful - love the pen and marker presentation Sarah. Thank you.
Thank you for watching even though you were not a teacher, Dorothy! I would have loved to have had a planner this nice to use in our homeschool long ago!
great review! Love that cover ~So cute! For the highlighters question. I rarely ever use highlighters as intended anymore. I usually just use them to underline or box in a word, phrase or section of the page. It adds color and denotes things of purpose still and doesn't ever risk smearing then.
Great tip, Susanne! I’ve actually been trying that out today and my notebook!
I got the lay flat teacher planner this year. The coiled ones are just so heavy!
They are heavy, I agree! But I had to go with the new vertical anyway! 😂
I love colourful borders on the notes pages.
I do too! Isn’t that a nice touch? I think the activity book will launch next week.
Thank you for the detailed review. As a non-teacher I think this would be perfect for me. My biggest problem with EC Planners is that the monthly version is always Sunday to Saturday. I have to re-date to make it Monday-Sunday. The price with this planner makes it cost-effective since I must buy the stickers necessary to complete that task.
Glad it was helpful! And an undated will allow you to have that Monday start! Yayyy!
i use dark hughlighters to draw borders for journaling
That’s an excellent tip. Thank you!
This homeschool planner would work really well for my in-home licensed childcare. Thanks for the review!
That's great! Thank you for watching, Kristine!
Ok, I NEED that Cool for School Sticker Book 📚!!!
I think you do!
Love watching your videos. This was so informative. My children are way past schooling, but this was so helpful. I, also, was a teacher. Many blessings.
I'm so glad you do, Wendy! I think our teacher hearts always love to see things like this even after retirement!
I'm so sad it's not dated. Not sure it's worth it. The few pages I typically adjust at the end of a regular teacher planner is minimal compared to having to add in dates for every single month *and* weeks. I counted, I only adjust like 5 pages at the end of my current planner to add reading tracker, field trip and craft/experiment trackers, and attendance for our homeschooling. 5 pages vs. 52 weeks plus 12 months, sadly it just seams like that's not worth it. I really really wanted to love an EC homeschool planner.
I totally understand. I think it’s a matter of market demand, so be sure to fill out the annual survey every year with this preference. If enough people agree with you and make this request, they may oblige, but I understand your disappointment and I’m sorry.
I can’t wait to place my order! I’m giving Vertical a try this year 🙂
Same here, Erica!
I’m getting one for my DIL! Thank you for the review!
Oh, that will be a lovely gift! I’m sure she will appreciate it!
I have been waiting for this video. Thank you so much. I love the way you review items.
That is so very nice of you! What a confidence booster you are. Thank you!
Love watching you ❤ Thank you so much for getting me into planning this way. I havent dived into weekely planning yet however...it is on my list of work on it more 😂
Oh wow, Katie! This is such an encouraging comment, and I truly appreciate it!
Absolutely wonderful review. ❤ I have been very interested in seeing the homeschooling planner. I think I'm going to have to go with the vertical teacher planner, though. I just think it will work better for our homeschooling. We have been using the horizontal for 4 years now, so I'm so excited about the vertical. Still missing the binder option, it worked so good to be able to keep the extra pages needed for our state requirements in the planner. 😢 The tiny highlighters are adorable. 😊 I hope you have a blessed day. 🥰
The binder would be especially helpful for homeschoolers, I think! I also ordered the vertical teacher planner this morning!
@PlanSarahPlan the binder was amazing to keep everything together. I ordered the vertical teacher planner this morning, too. 🥰
ahh thank you for sharing!
My pleasure! Thank you so much for the collaboration!
Hi! I was wondering if you know the width of the columns in the homeschool planner? Thank you so much!
Hi, Rachel! Sorry for the late response. The weekly columns are 1 7/8" wide.
Thanks for the detailed review! Random question but what curriculum did you use for your boys when you homeschooled? It's heavy on my heart to switch from public to home but we haven't started yet.
We used Calvert School, but I think I would use something different now. Calvert is owned by a separate entity now…maybe it is better and maybe it is similar…but I think I would prefer a Christian school curriculum if I had it to do over.
@PlanSarahPlan thank you for your feedback!
Do the square highlighters fit in the acrylic organizer?
If you stand them up, you have to turn them a bit, on a diagonal, to line them up in there. One compartment will hold 5 of them that way.
Love ❤️
Thank you so much!
