Sorry guys forgot to mention, and also because for some reason I couldn’t edit my other comment, but we vinyl wrapped our cupboards. It made a huge difference to the look of the van and retains the value whilst easily removed if you fancy a chance of colour etc.

It looks like this motorhome had to be originally sold in mainland Europe, since it has the steering wheel on the left instead of the right.

Looks great! I'm about 3 months in . 31 year old fiat ducato coach built. Just me and my frenchie, so suits us fine. Don't get overwhelmed. At that age, there's lots of things you could do. But doesn't have to be all at once either. Enjoy😊 can't wait to see more updates

I love your Hymer. I'm contemplating buying one myself next year. However I would suggest that you respect the wood! Don't paint it, don't cover it up.
Always loved the Hymers especially the one you have with the classy front. We have a 32 year old Triton Eriba caravan, made by Hymer. Keep it classic, look after it as they are a bit like older VW camper vans the more original the more sought after. Happy travels 👍
They do have a distinctive style to them which we love!

my tip is use it and upgrade it as you go then you will truly know whats needed
the amount of things i put in mine and 5 years later hardly ever use them
the one ting is a good diesel heater and extra usb fast charger i now have 9 lol

I used to live in a caravan for a couple of years - thought it be be quite fun to tour around, though I never went abroad. Winters are the biggest issues, especially with condensation, frozen pipes, the cost of fuel for the heating. Oh and the cold as well. Take my advice - in the winter, take a trip to southern Spain or better still Greece! Good luck to both of you.

We think so too! We saw a lot of vans for over 10k that weren't as well looked after. We have learned Patience is a virtue found when viewing vans 👌

Hi, we owned a Hymer B534 for 10 years and your looks similar except mine had a rear u shaped lounge. If you keep the wood - it smells really nice after polished with Pledge. Mine had a 100L fresh water tank and a 100L waste water tank at the rear.

Hi guys just my opinion but I wouldn’t paint the cupboards unless you plan on keeping it until it’s value has gone because it will devalue it
Really appreciate the advice! Another lovely viewer suggested we could vinyl wrap the cupboards if we fancy a change as it is easier to reverse. Kind regards 😊!

Great first video, now a subscriber. firstly name for your Hymer, maybe Hawfinch or heron (for your love of birds?) now my 10 pence worth of experience, after living full time in a motorhome for 2 years. my first bit of advice, is DEFINITELY invest in a diesel heater, trust me you'll need it during the winter. I have a fairly new A class motorhome with a good Aldi heating system, but during the winter this isnt enough. the diesel heater was a game changer for me, and worth every penny. If you're planning on living off grid a lot, like me, upgrade your 2 leisure batteries to lithium, you can then drain them down to near enough empty and it wont affect them at all, game changer. i have 250 watts of solar, which is good in the summer, but rubbish in the uk during winter and rubbish wet days (300 days lol). have a good mobile phone contract, with unlimited data, so you can work away and stream your tv channels on iPad etc. that's the main things from me at the moment, if i think of anything else i will comment on future videos. if there's any questions you want to know, please reply to this and i will ensure i reply. good luck

Have you any idea what the MPG is, and how much to tax. We’re seriously considering buying a Hymer this year and will follow you with interest.
@MrBlazeyb Good morning and thanks for the comment :). When we bought ours we drove from Weymouth to Nottingham and averaged around 30mpg unloaded. The tax is £30 a month :). Hope that helped and really hope you go in the hymer direction, they are awesome vehicles.
Is it expensive to insure, been told windscreen can be expensive if cracked??.
Hey there Dave, great question! Initially, we got quoted over £1000 for the year which really shocked us however after joining a club it lowered our quote to just £480 for the year!
Unsure about the windscreen but we have heard they can be expensive also.
Is this 3.5t or heavier?
Hey there ! This model is just over 3 tonnes so you can drive it on a standard car licence.
if you paint the wood you will devalue your hymer by a lot of money
