If I'm remembering my Santa Claus lore correctly, the "patron saint of prostitutes" thing came from a story about how a catholic Bishop named Nicholas would drop gold down chimneys to pay the dowries of women so they wouldn't have to be prostitutes. The catholic church later blended that story with a germanic folklore story about a kindly old elf king to create Father Christmas. Of course, the modern idea of Santa Claus is more influenced by old Coca-Cola commercials loosely based on a book called "the night before Christmas" than any of that stuff; though some elements of the original stories are still included in European Christmas traditions.
And that is the story of Santa Claus.

Personally, _my_ favorite story about St. Nicholas is the time he attended the First Council of Nicaea. Part of the proceedings involved the bishops laying out their thoughts on church doctrine and theology, and then debating what would be canon and what was heresy. Nicholas was so _outraged_ by Arianism that he socked Bishop Arius _right in the face._
Naturally, no one can just _smack_ a currently-ordained bishop, heresy or no heresy, not even another bishop, so he was defrocked and sent to prison. Then, the story goes, Jesus and Mary came to him, broke his chains, and gave him his vestments (and thus his office) back.
Don't fuck with The Wonderworker of Myra. He might have a soft spot for kids, but he's got _no_ patience for fools.

@Andrew Hamel I mean, Lavender Town Syndrome is a myth, and not even the kind many people legitimately believe in but more of a deliberate-internet-fiction type thing not far removed from "Then who was phone?". Lavender Town is only really fucked up in any way if you think the concept of ghosts, and "occasionally pets die" is inappropriate for a children's game. And if you do, that really isn't an especially healthy attitude.
At least none of us got lavender town syndrome. And I'm completely unable to pick up on that frequency now that I've turned 21. I'd rather not be driven insane due to the music from a video game that I love playing.

I missed it originally too. I had to have it printed out to me by my son when we watched it together again. Added a WHOLE 'nother level of enjoyment to the show for me.
It took me to watching it about 3 times and then seeing a reaction of the episode with laughing coffin no realize “wait Jeffery?... oh my god”

"I can't Alt+F4 this shit." I can imagine someone writing an SAO like story in which upon realizing they can't log out, people start using the Alt+F4 equivalent. Because there's bound to be something like that for such an advanced virtual reality in case there was a problem.
Maybe the devs were too busy adding "vaginal fluid dynamics" to the game.

I know this is late, but in case you never found out, "Suave Kirito" is played by Kaggyfilms, the same guy who voiced Corvatz in Episode 8. Look him up!
And in the voice credits at the end of episode 11, Stoned Kirito is mentioned as a completely different character

FYI: right after this episode 3, the jack dapper character, who also was Klein, and the female butler, who also played Asuna in the 2nd episode, left the group. Which is why they didn't do any more cut scenes.
I was surprised they killed off her pet dragon, editing it out of future episodes will be tough. Unless she gets an identical one through ridiculous means elsewhere.

Have you seen Unlimited Blade Works Abridged, by Project Mouthwash? I think it's just as good as SWE. Fate Apocrabridged is great so far, but there are only like 3 episodes so far

I love your channel man, you’re legit into a lot of things I’m into(as wrong as that sounds) in terms of games, shows, CZcams videos. Literally, every time I’m like- “Ph I gotta see a reaction from this video,” then I search it, then it’s you. You also don’t give a dead reaction, and it’s fun to see you smile and laugh at things, so it’s more enjoyable to rewatch with you.
I can't help but think about how fun it was to voice act this.
If you pay attention to the voices, you'll notice that the guy who say "so I'm not crazy" while talking to "Jesus" about fluffles playing the game is the same player who becomes the bible quoting leader of laughing coffin, foreshadowing his biblical descent into madness. Kind of hinted at by the laughing coffin emblem at the end of the episode.
Hellsing Ultimate abridged is also exceptionally good. I highly recommend it.
I just realized outside people could have put gold foil or something else that absorbs microwaves between the nervegear's contact points with the user's head and the head itself. Then simply disconnected the nerve gear and removed it. Or even simply fried the NerveGear's own internals with an intentional power surge or something. It can't kill you if its wires are melted. And that shouldn't hurt the user as it would surely be designed to be harmless in the event of an unexpected shutdown. Heck, it probably is designed to shut down if it simply overheats. Or overcharge whatever battery is onboard and then unplug the NerveGear. That way it won't have any energy to deliver its kill trap.

I truly Love this one the best out of all the Abridged series. I love how they string the plot together so much nicer than the original anime and Kirito's character has so much more personality.

One thing some people forget to realize is how damage real Kirito was too. In each version he lets himself be attacked to make a point. But the thing is, in SAO you still FEEL every attack even if it's not causing you major damage.
The narrator on the second episode is a call to the game Bastion.
I think YGOTAS was the first anime abridged series I had ever seen. Before that, I had seen some of the LoZ abridges that Xanauzimaki had done. He did Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, a one-shot of Skyward Sword, and even a one-shot of Wind Waker. There are some running jokes in each one, some of which carry over to the others.

I love how a lot of something witty's lines use a degree of restraint that makes them even funnier because you can't dismiss them as hyperbole or exageration
My favorites are 2 4 and 11, in 4 all the Skyrim references when kirito says “what” the ‘enter dungeon’ sound and his involerability is just like my character, bandits max at lev 46? My character is lev 96 ring of regeneration healt regens 403% faster same for my necklace... karf will never get old
