I gotta ask, what's the reasoning behind playing Teen Spirit and Come As You Are incorrectly? Would it be copyright or something?

if your doing nirvana on a budget, i recommend keeping your amp extremely clean, low bass, highish mids and med-highish treble (you’re gonna have to kinda ear it out) and getting all your distortion from the DS-1 or DS-2. kurts amp was imparting very little tone (which is a very important thing to note)
Here’s just some general info for Nevermind tones:
Kurt had 3 amps, the mesa boogie preamp, a bassman head, and i believe a full sized vox 2x12.
i believe 2 different style of cabs were used to record nevermind, one cab with 80’s celestion G12T75 speakers (most noticable on in bloom, on a plain, and other songs with more of a fizzy distortion) and one cab with early 70s celestion greenbacks (which are pretty rare and usually expensive.) the vox ac30 also had 90s greenbacks in it. Generally the bassman head was plugged into the greenback cab, and the mesa was plugged into the g12t75 cab and the greenback cab.
the speakers played a large role in the massive sound of nevermind.
as for ds 1 settings, tone should be around 10o clock. level and gain maxed or near max.

In live shows Kurt used the DS-1 with the tone at 4, distortion 10, level 10. This may have varied a bit in a studio setting, but his guitar tech during that time as chimed in on the net a few times with information like that. Just a tip, but this still sounds great!

Presets download? Been searching for these tones for a while now. Seen many examples of the ''Nevermind'' tone and this is the closest. It sounds remarkably close. It'd be interesting how you mixed and matched the Supergrunge. Did you record 4 separate guitar parts for that, for instance. Thanks anyway.

@@hayden911 He played a Jaguar a lot, so that claim isn’t accurate. It was also taken along on the In Utero tour (pickup was swapped for a JB) but wasn’t used as much as his Mustangs and Jagstang. It’s also been said that Kurt “babied” the Jaguar, but that is also far from the truth. Many shows were filmed where the guitar was damaged in many ways.
