  • The queen of sports climbing, Kim Ja-in
Kim Ja-in, born to climbing enthusiasts, began sports climbing when she was
just in elementary school and demonstrated raw talent right from the get-go.
She won first place at a youth climbing competition in her freshman year in
middle school and in 2004, she was victorious at the Asia Championships,
topping the Asia ranking at the age of 16. Ten years have passed since then,
and she currently holds the title as the No. 1 sports climber in the world.
Standing 153cm tall and weighing 42kg, this tiny giant will surprise you with
her ferocity and physical strength shown during training and at competition.
She endures through rigorous training on a daily basis to maintain her
momentum and her hands and feet are covered with calluses attesting to her
hard work. Although sports climbing is physical and mentally draining, she is
not willing to give it up because that's where she finds true happiness. She
still recalls the moment when she climbed to the highest point among all the
climbers to win the gold medal at the Climbing World Championship in 2009. In
the recent years, she has been competing at about 18 competitions every year,
but despite her busy schedule, she has given her time to do buildering as a
charity event and become ann ambassador of sports climbing.
Be sure to tune into The INNERview to find out more about sports climbing
involving ascending an artificial rock wall while relying on just a rope and
learn about the struggles and achievements of the sports climbing phenom, Kim
    Ja-in.

one of the best female climbers of all time, with unbelievable power to weight ratio and superb endurance. also one of the nicest person you could want to meet and talk to.
only this week I managed to climb a 5:12 so I am very weak compared to these professional climbers. Kim Ja-in gives so many people around the world such inspiration for the sport.
Its a good sport to do and you get to be strong, have fun and meet cool people. I wished the IFSC kept the 8 minute rule for lead climbing as Kim Ja-in was one of the best for the longer time frame climbing comps.

The beginning questions I guess make sense if someone literally has no knowledge about climbing at all but the stuff about shoes being tight and not wearing socks is like the first 5 minutes of climbing 101.

I think that she is incredibly selfish, she should get on a plane immediately and fly to Australia and teach me how to climb, honestly, how hard can it be!!!!???

Excellent climber but I wonder how those feet and shoes would smell after a hot day’s climb. No socks and a tight fit. Hmmm. Cheese anyone?
