    Great driving with the right equipment for the job....seems weird to see a flashing blue light on a Plow though. In the rest of North America, blue lights are almost always reserved for Police vehicles, and in Europe, Asia etc. blue lights are for police, fire and ambulance, but never seen on Plows.

    • @burnuts007
      @burnuts007  Před 3 lety

      Hey thanks for watching! Yeah the blue lights get a lot of attention on the channel. The Ministry of Transportation in Ontario made it a law long ago that municipal or provincial plows working on roadways have Amber/blue for better identification in poor weather. I live in Ottawa on a provincial border so when they are on bridge beat and enter Quebec they have to turn off the blues!

    • @user-D407
      @user-D407 Před 3 lety

      Actually, blue has been the colour for snowplows in Ontario for over 60 years. Though we added amber as well about ten years ago. Newfoundland, Saskatchewan and Manitoba all use the blue/amber combination as well. So does Alaska, Colorado, Minnesota and a handful of other American states. Blue is the most visible colour to the eye in snowy conditions. I run a machine almost the same as this, a Volvo not Cat, about an hour and a half south of Ottawa in Kingston.

    Why aren’t those cars ticketed for being on the street during a snow event?

    • @burnuts007
      @burnuts007  Před 4 lety

      Mike Barbacovi these cars could be ticketed. Most of these cars were pulled out for their own private snow removal company or shovelling themselves so they have only been on the road for maybe an hour. But even then not enough by-law in the city to worry about these side streets bigger fish downtown..
