Dear TecmathI want you to know how much I appreciate these videos. All my life I've struggled with mathematics at the most basic level. Every teacher I had was too fast for me to process what was going on, and they always made 'concept jump's without explaining how on earth they got there.. In your video here you have the humility and grace to explain things methodically and slowly. It may sound weird but I am touched by your efforts, and extremely grateful. Thanks ever so much for making this hateful stuff understandable to me!
Dear Rina,
Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you found the video useful - that's precisely the reason I love teaching!

Wow I'm so glad I found this video, I definitely struggle with the most basic of basic maths and you explain in detail thank you
Starting nursing school in a month and am required to basically teach myself this medical math, this is definitely a huge help thank you so much!
dear tecmath, because of you I passed pharm and I can help people as a nurse. thank you from the bottom of my heart
I am in 2nd year RN school in US. I have to say that your videos on MedMath are Wicked Awesome and have been very helpful for review! Thank you so much for your contribution to nursing education. SR
Thanks!! Have always struggled in mathematics and was about to cancel my entry test for enrolled nursing due to my lack of knowledge for maths... but after watching your videos and practicing with my own made up questions I feel super confident! Thanks again -future nurse
I watched this video minutes before my first class on my phone .. and as my profesor was teaching this .. I almost threw her the phone .. this is so much easier ..
Because of YOU i passed my first clinical calculations exam with an A! I did not understand how the math tutor was trying to teach me and I started to panic until I came across your videos. You made it so easy to understand. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
I'm taking a pharmacy tech class and you explain this better than my instructor. Thanks a lot for making it easier to understand.
You are an excellent teacher. Like the previous comment, many maths teachers go too fast and don't explain why some steps happen. You simplify things when many are unable. Thanks
Thank you for helping me feel smart today ! I can do this .
Very helpful and insightful!! Covers the basics and is great if you’re having a hard time with conversions and figuring out how to setup the equations! Gives an amazing formula and I highly recommend
Thank you!
I was actually coming out of my math classes DUMBER.
So refreshing finding somebody who can simplify and explain what is actually necessary!
I'm very much pleased the way you discuss my hated part which is calculations. But because of this video tutorial I'm more confident to do a hundred fold of it in my duty. Thank you!
you are absolutely amazing! I refer my friends to your channel and especially this video. helped me a lot through college!
No - I teach calculations classes to Div 2 nurses. It was for these students I made these videos. Please excuse any non math errors I make. And comment!
Thank you for explaining this I failed 2 classes because I didn't have the right teaching. God bless you
are you a nursing student
I wish i have discovered you when i was in nursing school. I hate math and my professor in math is just awful. So when i had pharmacology i struggle a lot when it comes to computing drugs especially conversions. Ive only watch this video ones and im already learning a lot. You made everything in math make sense. Thank you
Thank you so much for this easy to understand explanation. I've always struggled with math and it's been a mayor pain in my posterior, but this has really helped me. Thank you
Tomorrow I begin Pharmacology and this really helped me feel more prepared for tomorrow. Thank you so much for providing such easy to understand and high quality videos!
Thanks. You video made feel understand the nursing maths and hurray!!! I passed my test.
Thank you so much for explaining the calculations! I have always been bad at maths but I absolutely love this now!!!! I think this is going to be my favourite unit! I have to wait for semester 2 to do this though. So excited for it!!!!
This was wonderful, thank you!
Each dose is 5ml.
There is 60ml in the bottle.
Therefore there are 60/5 doses in the bottle = 12 doses.
A dose is given every 8 hours.
Therefore the medicine will last 12 x 8 = 96 hours.
This is 4 days.
Hope this helps.
This is so helpful, how can I thank you. God bless you Sir!!!! Thank you so much. I asked my teacher how to calculate a drug problem and she could not show me. You have saved my life, this is my first semester in nursing school for my RN. Again, thank you so much.
😁 I can not thank you enough! I was dreading the drug calculation exam as I thought this would be impossible to pick up. But after just watching this first video, I know that after watching a few more then I should be able to pick it up. Cant thank you enough! Amazing 👐🙂
I normally remember it as ‘NHS’ so you do Need divided by Have and then multiple by the Stock
Thanks so much for this. This really helps a lot. I will be a part time health student next school year during my senior year of high school and this really helped a WHOLE lot :) thanks
this is one of the best videos ive ever watched. God bless u tecmath
Thank you so much! I'm taking pharmacy online. Really helped to see it worked out.
Hi Mister Tecmath,
Wanted to tell you Thank you! I use this video and the IV math video every semester for my nursing classes as a refresher. We have to get a minimum of 9 right out of 10 questions, and we only have 2 tries. If we can't pass the math competency in the beginning of the semester, we can't move forward as a student nurse (I know, a bit harsh and sad!). I have 2 more classes and I wanted to express my gratitude for this video and the other videos. It's simple, easy and GREAT!
thank you so much, you made it so easy to understand. God bless you!!!!
I don't think I've ever felt compelled to write a youtube comment before, until now. Your videos are incredible, thank you thank you THANK YOU!
thank you so much. I actually went to school to get a pharmacy tech. then I thought it was very difficult the math. it's been a few year now... you really make it easier for me to understand. I struggle with math!!! will definitely be watching your videos:)
Thanks u so much for giving your time to share this to us. It helps me a lot.
you have a gift with explaining things. Keep putting videos out there ;)
You have helped ease my worries for nursing math. Your videos are extremly helpful and easy to understand. Thank you
Excellent video!! Much appreciated from a future nurse 😊
20mg/kg means for a mass of 72.2kg, 14440mg is required (i.e. 20mg/kg x 72.2kg).
The stock supplied is 0.9g/ml. Note because this units is in GRAMS per ml, we need to the 14400mg worked out earlier also into grams, so therefore
the stock required is 14400mg = 14.4g
Use the formula,
14.4g divided by 0.9g/ml = 16g required.
The 12 hour part appears to be irrelevant. If (and only if) the stock was in a g/ml/day this'd change the answer slightly.
I'm sticking with 16g required.
Hope this helps.
These videos helped me the most thank you 😊!!
I appreciate this because even though I was passing class with the help of my classmates I'm extremely grateful because for the life of me I couldn't get it not saying i have it down pack now but I UNDERSTAND thank you
Thank you so much!!!!! You deserve a medal for your efforts! Keep up the great work! Subscribed.

Thank-you for this video, I'm in my 2nd year of the bachelor of Nursing and have been having such difficulty with my maths! I have failed 3 of my medication calculations assessments this year because no-one has any time for me so it has caused me much distress. Thank-you, truly your video has helped me!
Atticus Finch were you not allowed to use calculators ?
yes we were but they didn't teach us how to do the medication calculations
in the bachelor level, you are required to 'know' these things before you start the course. did you do the diploma level/EN?
no, straight into the bachelor
