I grew up in the 80's, watched this movie. Thank You John Carpenter.
I was born in 1985
every guy driving a cadillac that has a chandelier as a hood ornament needs this sound track as their theme song or as their driving music !!
I drive a prius but I feel like I'm isaac hayes jingeling in a Cadillac draped with chandeliers A#1.

Romero: You touch me... he dies. If you're not in the air in thirty seconds... he dies. You come back in... he dies. Twenty seconds.
Bob Hauk: I'm ready to talk.
Romero: Nineteen. Eighteen.
Bob Hauk: What do you want?
Romero: Seventeen. Sixteen.
Bob Hauk: Let's go. Let's go!
excellent!!!! oince in a lifetime film !!! escape from LA NOWHERE IN THE SAME VAIN
Frank Doubleday as Romero is the soul of this movie. He sets the tone in that scene, esp. with his Bride Of Frankenstein-style hiss. I saw this as a kid in the early 80s, at 7 years old. Romero creeped me the hell out and left a lasting impression.
He touched you? Call the police then
Vinyl, my god. No one has such clear, beautiful, vibrant, and strong sound as you have. For ever your servant and endlessly envyous of your servant listening to your voice transmitting these heavenly notes.
John Carpenter will always be the king of horror and suspense.
I bought all of the Varese Sarabande reissues of Carpenter + Howarth OSTs on cassette back in 1988 & 1989 when they came out. I was 13/14 at the time. I jammed out to them on my walkman constantly. Other kids could not understand why I was listening to all those tapes full of "weird computer sounds with no words."
1:1 same story here ;-)
ha ha...so true, we were one of a kind
These sequences and sounds of this soundtrack are straightforward , simple but so effective. In my opinion, this is one of the best electronic soundtracks ever composed!
Couldn't agree more, the atmospherics established so simply by this music are off the charts
This is an awesome soundtrack. Escape From New York is my favorite movie of all time!!!!!!
John Carpenter is a genius.
Agreed. A million Techno and Electro producers the world over would agree with you. The arpeggiated tracks on this album are Electro in its purest form.
You flew the Gullfire over Leningrad. You know how to get in quiet. You're all I got.
Sounds like Hauk ain't got it so bad, actually.
I guess I go in one way or the other. Doesn't mean shit to me give the paper.

He's still out there somewhere, fighting his own battles until someone gets him to fight ours again.
I've heard of him....I heard he was dead

The Escape From New York theme perfectly evokes the dystopian vibe portrayed in the film.

I bought the soundtrack on vinyl back in 1982 and still have it to this day. In later years I bought it on cd,which has extra tracks. This, and Assault on Precinct 13,are John Carpenter's best soundtracks!
They are tremendous, and I have them both on vinyl as well, but Prince of Darkness, The Fog, H3 SOTW, H2018 and HKills are my top five. I listen to all of them constantly. I love his Lost Themes vinyl as well (4th one just came out).
The Duke has Arrived, love that piece! WHat a great movie then and relevant right now.
Don't cross The Duke. Everybody knows that.

I loved this movie in 1981... I LOVE THIS MOVIE NOW!
I’ve listened to this brilliant soundtrack for forty years now. And the music compelled me to put some drums on it (better late than never). If interested please have a listen 🤩👍🏻
I was born in 81 the yr this movie was released and the synthesizer John carpenter used to make the music has 80's movie music and 80's music in general written all over it like this movie terminator, tron, and other futuristic type dystopia type movies.
@29:12 "That your car in the lobby? Keys. QUICK. Map of the bridge. Hey hey HEY!" 🤣
This sounds amazing, it's like I'm back in front of the huge tv in the family room, the one with the wood paneling, watching this on cable! Thank you!
Big John is the Man not only in movies but in music. This man is a genius so underrated in his own country. My little tribute to this great song if you have 3 minutes to spare :

One of my favorites movies! I love this soundtrack!
The music at 16:14 captures the dark atmosphere of Escape from New York
Brilliant vinyl, I have the original vinyl and the remastered one, this is more like the original, love it! I love what the Germans do with tech, I have Die Klapperschlange on blu ray and Constantine have done the best restoration I have seen. Thanks for the upload, now I’m going to have to buy this one haha.
Stephen Daniels omg this is perfect)
Can you believe, that in a piece of vinyl "engraved" and a piece of diamond "put" on it, produces this marvelous and classic soundtrack?!?. Hence I can't. ;).
Dude! I love your vinyl videos !….they sound crystal clear…your laying out the best synth soundtracks ever!….. John Carpenter rules!……..so do u for giving us fans a badass uncut full album on gods greatest creation …..the vinyl….greetings from Hollywood CA😎👊🏼

Epic!!! ❤
19:10 makes me feel like the 17yo that first saw Escape from New York that I rented from blockbuster. Thanks for the video.
l'originale ! stupenda
Best Carpenter/Howarth collaboration. #2 Carpenter movie, The Thing #1. Brings early teen memories! Put Chase Across The 69th Street Bridge, 31:46secs, really loud. On 400W RMS or powerful HPs. 35y later. Sounds like great early tek! Like Moroder (ITA) or Kraftwerk (GER) Tx 4 UL! Montréal.
Bellissimo. In rete ci sono tante tracce ma questo disco è il migliore. Thanks bro👍
Skip to 18:59 for the best part.
Thx m8, i am really happy to listen to this soundtrack again. I had it once on a cassette tape but I lost it sometimes in the 80s.
Got the same record. Love it! To me the last track "Over the wall" is outstanding in a way of an absolute intense movie climax. It was brillant in it's original version (like on this record) and I hate the remix of the new CD. Awfuel! (the new, not this timeless version 😉 )
Thanks for upload!
"Sie nannten ihn die Klapperschlange... er muss da rein, wo noch nie einer rauskam!" (as far as I recall the advertise correctly) 😁😎
I love this movie and the soundtrack it is a minimalist Vangelis and that is not a detrimental comment .
I think this is the best version of the lot I've listened to them all found this the best engulfed cathedral
Perfect Soundtrack

The music at 8:20 is hauntingly beautiful.
Thats John Carpenters interpretation of "La cathédrale engloutie" (The Sunken Cathedral), composed by Claude Debussy. Its beautiful in its own right. czcams.com/video/SJILQWePbt4/video.html

In Italia era “Iena”… che sfregio. Ma sempre in Italia usciva un cult della musica house anni ‘90 con un sample di questa opera d’arte che è il soundtrack di “Escape from NY”.

Although it doesn't have all the tracks, it seems like they didn't include all of the annoying tracks where they decided to add dialogue from the film on the soundtrack. I hate it when they decide to do that. Don't wanna wear out a great movie!
