"Goodnight and good luck", I love this reference to Edward Murrow, a great journalist who was a staunch critic of McCarthyism in the 1950's.
@@hrishiv27 Nope. History has vindicated Senator Joseph McCarthy. He was right about widespread infiltration of Hollywood, media, industry and academia by communists sending information to Stalin's Russia.
Vivienne: "You are an enemy of the Daleks!"
*nervous laughter as I realise all of this is probably going to happen and worse*
There’s only one thing that could make me start a revolution. The BBC being disbanded
On the bright side, we're currently trending better than the Y&Y timeline, speed running the pandemic aside. Also since the earliest Trump could possibly get into office is 2025 if he wins the election, the US can't' nuke Hong Sha Dao before then either.
0:38 Covid plot line a year before that happend
love how news stories similar to the ones on the show have already come to pass.
major power cuts - the 9th august 2019 nation wide power outage
frequent flooding - floods of late 2019 - to early 2020 (and the dam incident in august) being summarised as due to climate change.
monkey flu - Covid-19.
They have now go the Russian invasion of Ukraine right, along with the insect population falling by 80%.
The government trying to get rid of the BBC, the failed attempts in America to overturn same sex marriage (which was successful in years and years) and the overturning on roe vs wade. Which happened in the show and in real life.
This is fucking terrifying
Please post more pithy parts. I missed the series so must search for the DVD- remember those alternatives...
They was right about the flu alright 👀
Oh they had a flu pandemic in this too!
Liz Truss
predictive programming, whoops sorry BBC
This will happen
rtd is a prophet 19 yay 😁
Monkey flu? Or monkey pox???
Honestly I love the BBC but you guys maybe should SHUT DOWN because the dramas are all NIGHTMARE FUEL.
Sad thing is that these montages are almost the only thing about the series that was watchable. The cliches flew hard and fast throughout .
The BBC going away wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, but as usual British people use the logic "old thing must be preserved despite its flaws".
Very much agreed, but in context it's about a dictator clamping down on freedom of speech
This show was so frighteningly accurate that I think I will have to see it again and pinch myself to feel whether present day reality is just a simulation or not 🥲
I love the small detail that the news ticker is showing that all the political parties are overjoyed that the BBC has been disbanded.
If there’s one thing all the parties universally hate, it’s the BBC
And ITV Stocks soaring literally is ITV being overjoyed.
