When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours - in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.

Gargamel is the main antagonist of the Smurfs comic books, the 1980s Smurfs cartoon show, and the 2021 Smurfs cartoon show. In the comic books, he has first appeared in "The Smurfnapper", one of the stories of The Black Smurfs comic book album. In the 1980s cartoon show, he has appeared up to Season 8, being the show's main villain, although several similar villains (presumably ancestors) appear in Season 9.

Yea he does several Simpsons voices, other people include Chief Wiggum, Apu (formally), Professor Frink, Comic Book Guy and many more. Also u feel like I should include Frank Grimes as he is in mine and many others favourite Simpsons episode
He did a really good job of Gargamel's voice.

The Smurfs movies suck SO hard when he's not onscreen.
Many people hate this movie, the redeemed qualities in this infamous movie : Hank Azaria plays Gargamel is very amusing, good voice acting and Brainy Smurf's ego has been downplayed.
How could anyone hate this movie. I remember insaw it when I was 13 and I loved it.

I guess you had to be grown up with those FRENCH-BELGIOUM comics by Pierre Culliford ( Peyo ) He had started bringing out L´Adventures des Schtrompfs ( Die Schl´ümpfe, The Smarfs etc ) since 1958. In Eurpoe those blue dwarfs are still a big success so are the movies. Nowdaya the rights for this comic is with the Scandinavian Carlson Press.

The comic is practically a fairy tale and GARGAMAIL is a wizard,. so what is tzhe matter.

In the Japanese dub of the 80s cartoon, Azrael has proper dialogue, but I guess Gargamel being coo-coo makes a bit more sense.
