    THANK YOU for ushering your audience into a wider world of woodworking. It is like the step change from hand tools to power tools. The new doesn't invalidate or obsolete the old, but rather opens the door into a new world. Now Gary, lets see how you (we) incorporate this change into our woodworkmanship.

      Thank you very much Jeff. Years and years ago pattern makers did not have the modern tools and machines I used as a pattern maker.
      I was still making patterns but with machines that fit the job perfectly. As I got close to retirement changes were taking place again and CNC is now doing the things I did and loved.
      Sometimes it is hard to accept new changes but they can make things easier.

    Guessed it on the 'T' ... but seemed obvious what it was going to be 😁...... nice little aside from the usual turning videos ... seeing perfection time after time can get boring 😂
    I'll hopefully be building my own CNC milling machine this year, albeit a bit bigger ..... the plan is to be able to do a 4ft wide sheet, with pass through so that I can do a full 8' by 4' sheet in a few passes. I bought a spindle a few years back and focused on the collet size (ER20) ... needless to say when a 5kg spindle arrived I realised I should maybe have checked the weight as well ... I'll just need to make a slightly sturdier machine 😁

      Thanks so much Barry. This Friday will be kind of different as well and I explain why.
      So I was going to build a much bigger and heavier CNC router but again a space for it was not going to happen. I know that my big milling machines are taking up a lot of space. The Bridgeport gets a decent size in X but only 12 inches in the Y. That machine has produced a lot of metal parts for my son's race car as well as other replacement parts for cars and even a new Reeves drive for a Delta lathe that you could not get the parts for. Very handy and i mostly use it for making wood carvings for gifts.
      Have fun building your CNC and would love to hear how it goes.

    How useful would this equipment be without all the software you already had on hand? I'm thinking hard about some buying some sort of data-driven tool. I can't really decide to go with a CNC router, laser or 3D printer. Three very different technologies, but all heavily reliant on software.

    I should do a trial run on the TTC450 CNC machine, the text that should be engraved. However, I have a problem when I let the machine do the process. It does not actually touch the bottom of the tree on which it is supposed to work, although I went to the Z test several times to adjust the height, however, the machine does not work correctly for me, it works non-stop in the air and non-stop returns up instead of down. How can I regulate so that this does not happen to me, so that it starts working normally. I don't know if it's not a problem in the Candle settings. I use machine dimensions 460x460.

    How are able to do all of that with that machine. I have had my TTC450 for about two months and its a struggle to get it to do anything. The Two Trees support is useless. I am certain I have a controller problem. I already installed the latest firmware and still have problems with this unit. I am thinking of putting in some other control unit just so I can get some use out of it. Mechanically its a good unit for the price but the controls are useless.

    • @ThePapa1947
      @ThePapa1947  Před 9 měsíci

      The control software is not the easiest to use but it works.
      But I am spoiled with using Mach3 on my milling machine.
      What are your main issues?

    • @czak62
      @czak62 Před 9 měsíci

      My main issue set the Z height with the Z probe. I'll put the the probe on a piece of 3/4" wood and try to set the height. If I press the touch screen button to raise it the spindle never goes high enough to slide the probe under. The touch screen beeps with every press but it won't go up. If I try to raise it with UGS or Candle sometimes it will goes up, most time it won't. I then have to turn the Z motor by hand to raise the spindle to get clearance. Then when I press the knife button to check the height with the probe I'll get a "soft limit" error. and I'll have to hit the knife button 1 or 2 more times before I can get the Z height set. When I get a soft limit error UGS and Candle won't function and they can't clear the error. I tried disabling the soft limits in the configuration, but when I do that and start a job the spindle won't move to the starting position but instead will lower and bury the bit into the work piece until it bottoms out. I have other problems as I am unable to complete an engraving unless it is run off a memory card on the touch screen. If I use UGS or Candle it will freeze during the job. I'll have figure that one out later. Any way you can help I would appreciate. I'm thinking or removing the controller and buying an Open Builds BlackBox Motion Control to replace it with, but that an additional expenditure i would rather not make.@@ThePapa1947
