I remember being 10 years old and watching this trailer over and over again, now I’m 20 and this game is still just as good as the first time I played it
Well she did say her outfit was new when she 1st encountered Bats in Arkham City. So she clearly changed it since this trailer. In Fact I still gotta play "New Game Plus" so I can get my Platinum Trophy.
Notice it still had that creepy intense tone that asylum had because it was the earliest trailer for city and hadn't yet got the Arkham city tone of basically less horror more action/thrill which is the vibe I got from the two games that both amazing!!!

I believe my dad got it for me to play because I'm a huge Batman fan, he thought I should give it a try and see what I think and I loved it, it's my favorite and most played of all the games but It was also my first!
@@Hillbot98 same I played it at 5 or 6 years old and my dad gave it to for the exact reason that you mentioned also It was my second game though my first was Arkham asylum now am a teenager and still play every single bit of the Arkham saga most notably Arkham city , I cherished the memories playing this game I remember playing Arkham city and I instantly knew the combat through the first combat encounter in the game with no damage and maintained my multiplier at the age of 6 lol.
jackson 4th grade me was so excited to play this after pre ordering. Just the anticipation of getting this game gave me butterflies lmao. I was completely captivated😆
I always wondered why Joker’s makeup was based the Dark Knight for this specific trailer. Maybe it was a redesign they considered but changed later in development

Looking back on this trailer it really makes me interested in what the whole series would have been like if kept to the intense, sometimes horrifying tone that arkham asylum had. Arkhan asylum genuinely terrified me at times, especially when the insane patients becane enemies in the game. If we had a series of arkham titles that leaned more into those intense horror tones, the series would feel way more gritty and dark.
I remember when this trailer was shown, there were theories that this was going to be Batman Beyond since they weren’t sure if Joker was just sick or he looked genuinely old. But they were thinking it could be Harley Quinn’s daughter with Joker as well I think. And this was set in some future dystopia of sorts

I still wish there was an Arkham sequel that allowed you to revisit all the sites of the previous games in one game. By the time Knight came out I was really hoping we could go back to Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and South Gotham (Origins' new portion of the map) while at the same time having Miagani Island, Bleake Island, and Founders Island.
@@utsr07 the closest we got to it was that Arkham Knight cutscene, but we never got to play in it. Suicide Squad will be in Arkham Ayslum too, although idk if it's a playable area.

The first trailer for the sequel released the same year as the original game and we already get a glimpse of Joker’s next plan. This was setting up a sequel in the right way.

I remember my brother and I waiting for my dad to come home with this game on launch day, one of the happiest days of my life. These games are the reason why I have a love for superheros in the first place. Brings back a lot of memories.
It's ironic; this is the first time in Arkham we see Harley and Joker with each other in person. They are only ever seen talking to each other in the previous game and everything else that happens is only implied. Yeah, we KNOW they're with each other behind the scenes but still we never actually see them together (unless you count the hallucination in the 3rd Scarecrow sequence). I found that kinda odd actually. Now I can't wait to see how this superior duo will tear shit UP! >:)
@Nathanthefool1 I think they're drawing some inspiration from a story in the comics called the Jokers Last Laugh in which he is told by a doctor that he has a tumour which will kill him but the doctor was lying hoping that it would scare the joker into changing his ways. Instead Joker tries to take the entire planet with. Yep arkham city is gonna be interesting.
