  • Pokemon Legends Z-A is on the Way and I've made it my job over the last few months to dig really deep into the map shot we got at the end of the last trailer. I've done a lot of digging and found some very interesting details which I go over in this video. I hope you enjoy!

You're asking why Prism Tower isn't a Gym? Because the concept of Gyms aren't a thing yet.
I commend the effort of analyzing the map and creating this video in general, but the 'Legends' title should be a clear indication that this is set in the past. The fact that the Meiji Era IRL (PLA inspo) happened concurrently with Hausmann's renovation of Paris (Urban Redevelopment of Lumiose) is the easiest justification for the time placement.
I'm open to be proven wrong, but the concept of Occam's razor does exist.

'Legends' doesn't necessarily mean it takes place in the past. They are just story's from the past and sometimes predict things that will occur the future

Please see my previous Z-A video for why I'm convinced it takes place in the future

We are redeveloping Lumiose City so humans and Pokemon can co-exist with eachother. We know that in XY Lumiose, this is not the case. Therefore, Past setting is kinda impossible, unless Legends Z-A is in an alternate Universe (Which in turn means they can delete current Mega Evolutions, since they might not be Mega's in this universe). There is also the thing that they already kinda delved into the future for a Kalos games in the Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon games.

Explorers of Sky just proved that Legends Arceus cannot take place in the past after all and must instead take place in the post-apocalyptic future.

"Pokemon Legends" refers to legendary pokemon not to the concept of something occuring in the past.

I really hope they'll include the catacombs....it would make for such an amazing ghost pokemon location. Or even a crazy endgame location, who knows! There's so much potential. Maybe I am biased because it's one of my top irl places I want to visit some day 🙂

It’s very probable this game is based off the future because legends arceus was in the past, and then Scarlet and Violet was in the middle, which had its whole theme based on past and future, so it would be really interesting if they said this one in the future to kind of put it all together

I think they can do a variety of ecosystems well, if they try. For Ice, they have done cold storage in Unova. For Ground, Rock and Steel, Unova and Sinnoh have construction zones. Ghost and cave pokemon can have catacombs or most underground tunnels. Fire can have foundries, and Electric can have Power Plants. The list goes on. And for a good insight to a wide variety of ecosystems portrayed in an Urban setting, I recommend looking at Ravnica sets from Magic the Gathering. They have everything from Dragons to Leviathans in a world that is all city.

X and Y mean a lot to me, so I'm super hyped about Legends Z-A. I thoroughly enjoyed your deep-dive into what the new Lumiose map could potentially tell us. Fingers crossed we get a new teaser trailer at Worlds 2024!

I think they might replace the tower in the middle to make a primal groudon statue which when you interact with it will summon primal groudon and it will save everyone from the evil primal kyogre after it murdered primal groudons best friend rayquaza

4:20 It's probably just to show the pentagon upright, since it is the symbol of Kalos after all. The same symbol used for the game's Origin Mark, Pokedex icon, and the medal Sycamore presents to you after you become Champion.

Oh nice i was looking forward to someone making this! (Im doing something similar myself).
One thing i disagree with is at 5:40, the reason that its a pentagon to represent mons from kalos is because kalos is a pentagon. You can even see this use of a pentagon when showing the split between mountain, coastal, and central kalos in the dex.

The amount of work and research than this video has is diabolical. Amazing.

I have given this whole Lumiose City being redeveloped so that humans and Pokemon can live together a second thought and then i have looked at what Scarlet and Violet did, with giving use more evolutions for already existing Pokemon... a Steel type Eeveelution makes a lot of sense in this setting.
What if redeveloping Lumiose City means integrating some of the surrounding areas of Lumiose into the city as well, that instantly eliminates the Lumiose Badlands issue, as we can have the Ground/Fire/Rock types there (Amongst other Pokemon that potentially make sense, like maybe we can go into the Power Plant for the Electric type).
We have seen the Professors Lab in the trailer, its in exactly the same spot.
If this is a sequel, Battle Chateau and Daycare (If breeding is in the game) need to be moved into Lumiose as well.

To be honest I would like if the plazas teleport you to different sections of Kalos, like the open zones of Hisui.

    • @candyneige6609
      @candyneige6609 Před 24 dny

They do not actually teleport you to different locations, because in-universe, it's ultimately the Flying Taxi that transports you across the open zones of Hisui, and we would see something similar in Kalos if the plazas did indeed transport you to different sections of Kalos.

I had to delete my comment, because it turned out to become a stupid war about Pokeballs and the timeline of pokémon, seriously candy, all of your points dont make any sense, you prob just read through bulbapedia and came out to your conclusion about pokeballs and are trying to fight people over your OPINION. Hisui is a very ancient region where pokémon were feared and worshipped, the game cant take place in 1925 in a post-World War I scenario, that is so silly. And not only that, if you consider when Voltorb was stated to be discovery when Pokeballs were untroduced and then you realize Electrode being a Noble Pokémon, and as such see that Electrode existed in milllions of years before, that makes this whole thing even funnier. In summary, this whole discussion is pointless and I its not what I wanted to talk about in the first place.
