- This is a guide on how to install Age of the ring mod for The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II: The Rise of the Witch-king.

(read and watch it step by step do not skip anything!)
Patch 2.02 v8.0.1 page (click on both the installer and the updater, Install the main patch first and then download and install the updater after you finish this step you should have a patch switcher on your desktop or game folder open it and switch back to patch 2.02 v8.0.1 otherwise you wont be able to play the mod)

Note:
If edain is installed in the same location as your patch 2.02 remember to open edain launcher and Disable the mod and then switch rotwk to 2.02 v8.0.1 and then launch Aotr!

hello please help me. When I download Aotr, I get an error that I don't have the 8.01 patch, although I installed it and selected it in the 2.02 launcher

problem..the army is not organized by right clicking on the mouse. i cannot push the arrows back and the fighters forward
Dam I tried everything and could not get this mod to work.I redid patches after using Edain deleted big patches that exceeded the limit,disabled what needed to be disabled nothing works.I guess I have to go back to Edain.I was looking forward to this one as it is less restricting but guess I am stuck like chuck spent 4 hours on this and my patience is not with me anymore.

Idk what's wrong but my aotr mod is broken. I can load up but skirmish I can't play it kicks me out. But I can play the campaign lord of the rings.... however the graphics all look blurred
i change the ver into 8.0.1 and when i install it says i must fix the version into8.0.1 but i already change it nothing happens

I believe on the AOTR discord server a lot have this issue I forgot the solution go to there server and they have a fix there

1. When i go into the game it makes the intro then gets back to the ROTWK entrance
2. and every time i do skirmish half of the things are pink and agter 2 seconds it says defeated

Heyy, I do not know the solution for that error but a good thing to do is to join the age of the ring discord server ( link in the description )

I had this error too, i gone to the program files 86 file in my hard drive. deleted all the big. files that were higher than 8.0.1, set the patch switcher at v8.0.1 again and tried to install again and it worked.

You can’t download BFME 2 from the link you provided anymore. When I click main to download it, it can’t find the server. Where do you recommend I go to get the base game?
There are 3 links on revoura for each bfme game to download have you tried all 3??
On the Website with the 2.02 Patch avaible are language packages for the patch itself. Are they necessary/advisable to install, if I am using a non english Version of the game?

How can i download another mod for Rotwk that it doesn't go into the files of in a other mod, also the age of the ring mod plays but i can't play the original game,why?
So usually when I download Bfme from scratch on a computer and then download Rise of the witch king I patch rise of the witch king original folder to 2.01 and then make a copy of that folder and paste it and basically I won't touch that folder until I need it cuz other mods require 2.01 Like Edain... so when you want to separate mods u need multiple folders...be warned though some mods they only target the folder named :
"The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king"
this folder name is important for example if i have this folder patched to 2.02 and aotr targets that folder and I want to download edain now... what i'll do is copy-paste the folder I hid earlier since its time has come its useful for me now...
edain only installs to The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king
and ihave 2.02 in there what I would do is add a letter to the name and then rename the fresh 2.01 copy of rise of the witch king to The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king then edain installer installs to that folder and wont touch my rotwk 2.02 folder since I renamed it and added a letter to the name The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king
you get the idea ? so now edain installs to a different folder and then ill name that folder edain and then revert the 2.02 folder that I renamed back to The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king because aotr needs that folder name otherwise aotr wont be played..

Hi, ive seen a few comments like the one im going put on a few videos, but ive followed the tutorials down to the letter. Ive watched 3 videos, and read the AotR tutorial on the page. But after everything is installed and patched, is says i need v 8.01? when i have that version, and changing the patches around. get the same error. Please can someone help, i love this mod, i played it when they first released the fellowship, and thought it was amazing.

How can I delete the previous version (I've got 5.1 installed) of the AotR mod before installing 7.0? I need to save some space.
Locate the folder in your c programfiles 86 or program files itself find the folder and click uninstall
@@MasteroGaming Thanks for the quick reply. I've read that instruction before but I've got several files on my C. The direction goes like this:
Computer>C>program files (X86)> Electronic Arts
Inside the electronic arts file, I've got 4 separate files:
aotr
launcher files
bfme II
RotWK
installer (with the icon of the aotr)
Which ones should I delete? Obviously not the Bfme 2 and Rotwk!
Would you advise me to locate and delete any other folders and files relatable to aotr that may be installed in a different location?

@@rockandmetaljunkie yes do that , though u can still play the latest version as long as u have 2.02 V8.0.1 and you download the latest patch 7.0 for aotr it doesnt matter if u have old version just people delete it cuz thats the normal thing to do so they don't mistake old version for new version

hey this is a mod Age of the ring mod works with Rise of the witch king 2.02 8.0.1
and you can't play rise of the witch king game or its mods in general without have your bfme 2 patched to 1.06
1.09 wont work.

I Don't know honestly all I know this mod has great visuals and graphics if put on ultra high settings however playing in such settings can crash the game especially if you're playing multiplayer.
